Justin Timberlake ruining Shrek 3?

http://thebosh.com/archives/2005/11/...timberla_4.php

Quote:
Radar Magazine hears that DreamWorks employees working on the third installment of the hugely profitable Shrek franchise are frightened that Cameron Diaz's pop-star boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, is ruining the movie.
The trouble began when DreamWorks execs asked Diaz-the voice of Fiona-if she had any ideas for the role of the Princess's long-lost relative King Arthur, whom Shrek teaches to be a monarch. Before they could say "Just kidding!," the actress immediately pushed for Timberlake.

"The problem is that the plot of the movie basically rides on the back of this Artie character [the young King Arthur], and DreamWorks was having a helluva time casting it, trying to find the right young actor with the right voice," says a source close to the studio. "But after they made the mistake of mentioning it to Cameron, they were backed into a corner. They needed her, so to keep her happy, they had to go with Justin. But when he came in to record he was just awful.

Three weeks ago - "They were working off the boards and had Justin come in to do preliminary vocals, and he's just not a voice actor," says the source. At one point, DreamWorks animation czar Jeffrey Katzenberg even joked that "he would give $10,000 to any employee who could make Justin and Cameron split up," the source says. "As long as she's dating Justin, he's in the movie."

Timberlake's publicist, Ken Sunshine, dismissed the claims
Jeez is there anything he can't fuck up? First he breaks up nsync now this!? Shrek is one of the be 3d animation movies out there and now these 2 are going to kill it because a diva wants her boyfriend to be in it. Don't they know he can't voice act!? Haven't they seen the simpsons episode with him in it!?

I think there is only one thing we can do...anybody have a number of a cheap hitman?

There's nothing to ruin after Shrek 2 was released. Shrek 1 was kind of cute, but 2 was just product placement and humor defined by "this is just like something in the real world lol lol". It had no heart. Justin or no, I won't be seeing 3.

REALLY? I found 2 very heart warming. I thought the story was very well told and well paced. in all. better then Shreik 1.

The choice of music was awesome. especially the bar scene when Capt Hook was playing 'People just ain't no good' fit the mood of the scene very well

I liked Shrek 2 mostly for the Puss In Boots scenes... he reminded me of my cat, actually. Especially when he used his secret kitties-are-so-cute weapon!!

Ahem, sorry.
Love the kitties.

How can breaking up nsync be compared to...a bad thing. I've seen Freedom Medals given out for less.

I'm with Bill O. and RedLemon on this one. Shrek 2 was...just Shrek 2. Which made me so sad. But breaking up nsync? I would have paid JT cash money for that one.

Shrek is soon to be a classic like Toy Story. Very well done. How could you not laugh at this movie?

I'd think if CBS could pull off the Darin switch without an uproar then losing someone doing voice overs shouldn't be a show stopper.

All hail Pixar. (Although I don't know how Cars will work out.) Also, all hail Aardman for creating Wallace and Gromit. I fear the release of Chicken Little, as it appears that Disney decided to follow the Dreamworks model of humor rather that the Pixar model.
