Hmmmm........
I think it's got a chance. Angel's wings look cool and Beast's make-up is good (we'll need to see more I think). What might make or break the film (seems to me, anyway) is how convincingly the "evil-mutants" are. I'm getting a bit of a Skeletor and his henchmen vibe. It also feels a little like that movie we all made in high-school where we all ran around in the forest with a camcorder...

Argh, every time I try to play the movie it gives me the broken quicktime icon. I have quicktime installed and updated.... so frustrating. Anyone have a link to the direct .mov file?

I think it looks very cool. It has the same "feel" or direction of that first X-2 trailer that came out, and I thought X-2 was going to suck. Boy was I wrong. One of the best movies I've seen. I have hope for this one as well!

Madcow do you have the new Itunes/Quicktime? I had to download that a while ago before I could watch the new high defs (even the normal coded ones too). Maybe you can get PRO?
Cool teaser. This is one of those trailers my jaw was wide open at the end of it! Hahah. I liked the Xmen movies... looking forward to this one! Beast looks so cool! Cheers!

So who's the villain this time? I saw some pics, but it only showed Angel and Beast.

But if my memory of the ending of part two, along with the comic books serves me correctly, i think Phoenix might show up as a villain too. |

Thanks for the link, I uninstalled iTunes/Quicktime and reinstalled the Quicktime standalone, and then it worked. It does look pretty sweet, I am also skeptical about the army of mutants. Xmen is a very character driven series and if they stuff to many people in it I worry it the movie might feel watered down. We'll see come May though.

IMDB has Famke Janssen listed as "Jean Grey/Phoenix", so it looks as though they are at least beginning the Phoenix saga. However, since the movies vs. comic book timelines/plotline has been completely different, it remains to be seen what role Phonix will play. I'm kind of sad that Alan Cummings won't be reprising his role as Nightcrawler. And Kelsey Grammer as Beast?? Should prove to be interesting (although it may be difficult to not keep seeing Beast as Sideshow Bob ) .

As for the teaser, it looks like they are staying true to the preceeding films, which is a good thing. My only fear has already been posted here... too much at once can be overwhelming.

I may have to eat my words on this, I thought Kelsey Grammer would be perfect to talk like beast (intelligent and refined), but I didn't think he could pull off the look. Based on the pics and vids that I've seen, albeit a limited number, he looks really cool. This may just work.

Honestly, my hopes aren't very high for this. It really seems to me as though they're trying to pull off way too much with this movie. Phoenix? Brotherhood? Juggernaut? Not to mention, if the Brotherhood is rising up to a great degree, there must be something from the humans that's causing that as well. And then there are the new mutants. Besides Phoenix and Juggernaut...Beast, Angel, Kitty Pryde, Colossus, and I think some others as well. The Phoenix saga is a movie in and of itself. The Brotherhood, frankly, has been done - at least as the *main* villain. I could be - and I really hope I am - proven wrong, but at this stage it seems to me as if they took the plot of some X-Men videogame, with a ton of "bosses" and mildly developed plots, and tried to make it into a movie.
And all that is not to mention some of the spoiler things I've read which make the previous things I just mentioned look like the GOOD points. Nonetheless, I will see it. And I will hope that I'm wrong.

The only thing I'm worried about is that there's a new director, and I *think* either Empire or SFX said he doesn't have a great track record. Although I just checked on imdb and was surprised to learn that he did Rush Hour, so that gave me some hope.

Going frame by frame through the trailer. Phoenix is evil. She appears alongside Magneto and Juggernaut in one of the final clips.
Something I just don't understand is.. why do they have to go and trash San Francisco for pure cinematic thrills? The whole deal with Magento leading a horde of disposable evil mutants is as campy as the way the villains were dealt with in Mortal Kombat 2 (if you never saw this movie.. good) - I wanna see Mr Sinister! Pyro! Toad! ... and that's all. No disposables, please.

Cant wait for this movie. I love the Xmen. After seeing pictures of Angel I thought it was going to be horrible, but the trailer made it look really cool. Kelsey Grammer is actually perfect for beast cause beast is really smart. Just look at the guy from SHIELD who played The Thing in Fantastic Four. Never would have thought he would do such a good job. Anyway, nobody has mentioned that Callisto is going to be in the movie. That should be interesting.
I dont think they're doing too much with characters. I think the story will revolve around Magneto and the main X-men, while all the others have small parts here and there. Anyway, looks like no Gambit. |

I'm looking forward to seeing Colossus kick some ass, I was gutted he was used so little in X2. It also looks like a lot of the characters aren't going to get back stories. In the last two films they touched on the fact that there are a lot of mutants around the world, and they all have different abilities. In X3 I think we're expected to take that for granted, "there are lot of them about, here are some, look what they can do!"

I giggle every time I see Beast portrayed in that trailor, because he just looks like a blue Mr. Grinch. Is that bad?

Now in the comic books, X-men had just been in space defeating some randoms, when the space ship Jean Grey was in went through a cloud of something, and then the spaceship crashed into earth's sea. Bla bla bla everyone cries when what do you know. Jean turns up. Long story short they find out she was the 'Dark Phoenix' which is some random cosmic thing that is possessing her. They defeat her, and they fnd the real jean (at bottom of lake) but still has phoenix's powers. My guess movie plot: Oh no Jean's dead. News: comet hit earth. Went into lake. Bla bla bla. Then the Brotherhood of Mutants go very public. X-men go to intercept when - what's that Jean!? Or so I guess
