First do no harm...unless it's got chili in it

A friend of mine in Scandinavia is into chili and all kinds of hot, spicy stuff. I grew up in Finland, too, so I know from firsthand experience that what Finns consider rock-your-balls spicy is just mild for anyone who grew up in Texas.

This guy has no idea. No idea.

While a powder probably will never have the potency of fresh chili, I'd like to send him some chili powder OR some other spice (in powder form - liquids might not survive customs). I'm not talking about some McCormick stuff, they can get that shit there no problem. I want something that will turn his digestive system into Chernobyl.

Suggestions welcomed.

Here's a link to a plant catalog that shows you pictures of hot peppers. There are 5 pages of names and descriptions to scroll through, which will help you become familiar with all of their names: Hot Peppers

Dang. It looks like I threw out the label for the bagged Mexican spices I always buy. I'll keep searching and see if I can figure out the name.

If you could find a wiri-wiri pepper, you could probably make him cry.
I've only seen them in the backyards of Guyananese immigrants.
I grow kung-paos, purple jalapenos and anchos in my backyard garden organically specifically for my chili. There is a powdered pepper mix you can get from a latin grocery that will blow your socks off, but damned if I can't remember the name. Or you could try an Indian/Thai grocer for some dried thai chilis. Those things are deliciously nuclear and have an awesome flavor. I've shipped liquids to Sweden before, they survived customs if you label clearly.
