I can't give any recipies off the top of my head, but if you google it, you'll find some truely amazing sites out there. Personal favorites are flaming dr peppers and tequillia sunrises. both are fun to make, and look nice. Also, buy at least 1 jigger and have an attractive mixer, ie not a plactic cup. People will be much happier with their drinks if you use the right tools, and those two are a good start.

Metropolitan: Cranberry juice, Absolut Kurrant (or any berry flavored vodka), Rose's lime juice, fresh lime juice. I'm not sure about measurements. I've tried to figure it out and I swear that I have it by the third or fourth one, so I attempt to write it down but it always turns gibberish.

vodka is a great combo with just about any fruit juice.
Try taking your screwdriver and adding equal parts cranberry juice and orange juice. Now you have a very tasty Madras. :-)

That oatmeal cookie drink is damned odd looking, what quantities do you use? I want to try it, but damn... Goldschalger and Jagermeister, in the same drink? And Baileys? Crazy!
As for tasty drinks, Ceaser : Rim a glass with celery salt 1-2 oz Vodka Fill glass with Clamato Juice Add worstershire sauce and tabasco to taste. Drop in a celery stick, and you're good to go! Last edited by human; 07-29-2003 at 08:52 PM.. |

Bloody Mary:
Some vodka (stoli's pepper vodka if you can find it) some tomato juice some tobasco some pepper some worchestershire (sp) sauce celery, scored so the flavor bleeds in to the drink The amounts depend on your tastses, vodka and tomato juice should be more prevalent than the others. I usually go a bit lite on the juice, and am liberal with the tobasco and worch... Gentle Ben: 1 oz vodka 1 oz tequila 1 oz gin top to tase with o.j. You can get by with much less o.j. than you'd expect. You also don't need to make many of there. |

Jaeger and Goldslchlager is called 'liquid cocaine' not really my cup of tea but it's all the rage with the kids in Toronto these days...and my sister has just brought it to the DC area.
Any way, my favorite is an old fashioned. Put the following in the bottom of an old fashioned glass (a short pint glass) Orange slice Marichino Cherry's Lime Slices 1 teaspoon bar sugar (it dissolves in cold water) Dash of Bitters. Muddle the above in the bottom of the glass (muddling is smashing and crushing the fruit with the sugar and bitters). Fill with ice and add your favorite whisky...I prefer VO but sour-mash, bourbon, or other ryes will do. It's all up to you. It is common to cut the whisky with an ounce or two of club soda...entirely up to you. I like to use ginger ale. enjoy, -bear

Here is my standard party recipie for sex on the beach.
3/4 cup orange juice (good orange juice like tropicana) 3/4 cup ocean spray cranberry juice 3-4.5 oz vodka .8 oz peach schnapps put in martini mixer with ice, shake, serve. Another good one: Make a standard white russian: .8 oz kahlua, 1.5 oz vodka, and milk to taste. then add Godiva chocolate liquer or hersheys chocolate syrup to make it taste like a chilled mocha latte.

Oh oh, I have another good one. It's not very original, but it is always fun to give someone else:
the cement mixer: 1 shot lime juice and one shot Baileys irish cream in separate glasses. Have the 'victim' put both shots in his/her mouth and swish it around once or twice before swallowing.

Great drinks i found out last night
1 can of limeade concentrate vodka to taste add ice to top of blender, blend. Its amazing, the sourness of the lime takes of the vodka, and it is a great drink, honestly, works well with most any canned concetrate!!! try it, you'll love it i promise! |

First, a good reference site: http://www.drinksmixer.com/
Second, a couple of drinks: Vodkist: this is something my friends and I created and decided we liked more than screwdrivers; basically use sunkist instead of orange juice for the screw driver, gives it a different flavor, but if you're making strong drinks (or drinks for girls who don't like alcohol-tasting drinks) it generally masks the flavor of the vodka a little more. Martini: I saw someone else had posted a recipe for a martini, but there are dozens of variants; I go for a drier martini, 10 to 1 gin to dry vermouth, shaken with ice and an olive in a mixer then strained, toothpick the olive and add to the drink. For the love of god use good gin too (bombay sapphire is mine) :P Other variants involve the vodka martini, sweet martini (sweet vermouth instead of dry), twisted (twist of lemon or lime), dirty (dash of olive juice from the jar), and many others.

I love Vodka Tonics. Mix vodka and tonic to taste, add a slice of lime, consume.
Something else that's pretty good is to mix vodka with fruity sodas like grape or orange. Giant sells these bottles of really intense fruit soda (I think it's called "Crush" or something); they come in six packs. They taste really good with alcohol.
