campfire/hobo stew

I'm looking for a recipe for a great hobo stew. Right now what I make is pretty good. I combine smoked or polish sausage, potatoes, corn, green beans, canned tomatoes, tomato soup or sauce, beer, onions, chili powder and anything else I can find. I cook it over the fire for most of the day in a stew pot. Anyone else have any suggestions or ideas?

I remember making a hobo "casserole" when I was younger and in Boy Scouts. We would take a large square of aluminum foil, double it over to make it thicker, then put about a half pound of ground beef on it, then whatever veggies you desire.. mostly diced carrots, potatoes, onions, peppers, celery, tomatoes (if you like them), etc.. then season with salt and pepper really good, maybe a little garlic if you desire, then fold over the aluminum foil and roll the sides together leaving enough room for steam to gather in the top. If you are cooking on a campfire, set your hobo casserole foil "ball" in the hot coals, out of the flames. Let it cook for 30 minutes or so. Turn it occasionally so as to make sure it gets as even heating as possible (note: turn with a stick or tongs - it is metal after all).

This always worked well for us on campouts and is incredibly tasty when you are extremely hungry from hiking all day.
