melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat (you make the cookie dough in the pan)-cool till tepid

sift well (at least twice) together all dry except for sugar

with a wooden spoon stir 1 1/2 cups of the sugar, the molasses, and teh egg into teh butter untill well mixedand smooth

add teh dry ing. one half at a time and mix well

cover with wax paper and let chill for 30 - 45 min (untill firm)

shape teh dough into one inch balls -place remaining sugar in small bowl and roll teh balls in it then place them 2 inches apart om the cookies sheets and bake

they taste soo good..pair with teh apple cider i posted before..its mind blowingly good together

slice some tart apples (granny smith works best)
get rid of the core and seeds

take like 1 cup of sugar in a small saucepan and heat over low/med stirring constantly ..itll start to clump (DONT ADD WATER)..keep stirring and itll start to melt ..keep on stirring till its light gold...keep it up till its dark/med gold..add some cinnamon ..then dunk the apple slices in quickly..so half is dunked and teh other part has nothing...let them cool and sprinkle (the plain apple halves of teh slices) with some vanilla or rum or brandy..yummm

its all crisp and caramely and slightly spicy

enjoy
