Keeping the penguin subject alive until beaten to death:

There was a guy who used to post jokes like this in some newsgroup. They were always complicated, and had endings like this, and people got so mad that he stopped posting. I was really let down. Thanks for reminding me how fun pointless jokes can be. I remember one of his jokes was

Two dolphins walk into a drugstore. The first dolphin stops to get a gumball while the other shops for shoe inserts. The second dolphin says, "What is taking so long with that gumball machine?" The first dolphin says, "Never mind. Its a blue one."

Same oddity. Different day. Still funny. (well, to me anyway...)

You know what would make that joke funnier? If it were penguins instead of dolphins.

Wait a minute... the dolphins were walking? Nevermind, that's comic gold! GOLD, JERRY, GOLD!
