The 30 Second Mystery 8 - Who?
 

There are four categories: Who, What, Where and Why. Some will be easy, some not. I have as many as six clues to help you along, which I'll supply as needed.

Please limit yourself to one guess, and another guess for each clue I supply. No questions allowed. Partially correct answers won't be acknowledged.

Wild guesses are fine. In fact, they can add to the mystery.

The Case:
A throng of onlookers screams when an unknown man turns on a machine. When he turns the machine off, he is an instant celebrity.

The Mystery:
Who is the man and what is his machine called?

Thomas Alva Edison and the light bulb

Clue: The machine was on for 33 1/2 hours.
