Trans-Tasman rivalry

Do you sheep shaggers out there think that aussie's really care about the trans-tasman rivalry outside of union. Usually if there's an aussie v nz sport I wont get pumped up cause its against the the kiwis, I will however if it's against our traditional pommie rivals. Its interesting i was in NZ in 2002 when the kiwis were playing us, and the kiwis happened to have won a game and everyone over there was jouyous about beating the aussies, whereas the times when we beat them I didnt give a stuff! Do you new zeland lot take it seriously?

Come on slimshaydee of course they get pumped up - beating the aussies is like getting your first root - it only happens once:)

Happened twice last year. (Gonna happen twice this year, the Cup stays where it belongs!).

Let me put it to you this way, Australia beating NZ in union is like NZ beating Australia in Aussie Rules/League/Union/Cricket/Whatever... COMBINED.

Its utterly devasting to be beaten by somebody else in your national game, which is why when we beat you we make a big deal about it, mainly because many rank Australia as the second best rugby side in the world (after NZ of course!).

That and we know you don't give a stuff, which makes losing to you a lot worse, because nobody in Australia cares, yet NZ goes into a massive depression following an All Blacks loss.

You're kidding slimshaydee... when we beat the sheep rooters we love it. Just as good as beating the poms.

I saw this report recently on Jono Lomu(?), and what he is up to today. It was really sad. Remember a couple of years ago and he was the talk of the world. Apparently even the NFL was trying to recruit him. The guy can hardly walk down the street nowdays. He has some degenerative disease or something. He looked like a retarded homeless guy, i couldnt believe it.
