my grandpa & dad used to hunt squirrel when i was a kid...
shoot them cute little boogers with rifles.
then they'd skin them.
then grandma would cook it up.
and they all would EAT it.
i never did.

probably tastes like chicken.
but i don't want to know.
i prefer to feed them peanuts.

You twice mentioned that you feed them peanuts...
Peanuts aren’t nuts, they’re legumes that grow underground, and not naturally eaten by squirrels. Raw peanuts are toxic to squirrels. Roasted peanuts are not toxic, but squirrels (while they love the taste) get virtually no nutrition from the "not-nuts".
Thought you might like to know.
