Well, the whole song is a joke (I think). I took the slavery thing to be a poke at America's "fine" history/tradition. Which happened to include the horrible institution of slavery.
And my post was slightly sarcastic. I can easily see why some people would be offended by the movie. And I was just echoing the movie's over-the-top enthusiasm with the America comment.

Sorry about that... I've always had a problem picking out sarcasm when it's in writing unless I know the person's personal views. Lately I've been surrounded by people who could watch this and agree whole-heartedly... Thus said, I've been trying to defend institutions like "freedom" and "equality" lately and I guess it just carried over.
