I've been watching the telly lately and noticed these things called 'slides' and I was like what the hell?! they're just thongs...

Another piece of australia being 'americanised' (excuse the term if you're offended by it).

Can you lot think of anything else? O_o

I've never seen ads for slides.. but if they're just thongs.. I've never heard 'em called slides in the States either. Maybe Britishised?

As for Americanisation.. take a look at any city and the abundance of Maccas, HJ, KFCs

slides=anything that isnt a plugger
the aussie thong(the officail australian dress shoe)=plugger
the up-market australian thong (the double plugger: ceremonies, weddings, funerals... any other important shit)=the double plugger.
