If going to America, leave your phone behind

You might get arrested, and charged with carrying "a dangerous or deadly instrument"

But when they give you access to one, that's just as bad!?

Surely... wouldn't an agressive assault charge be more realistic?

eh... what do I know?

they reckon 8 years for throwing a phone...that's a lil bit unrealistic.

It's up to eight years for assault with a dangerous weapon. He won't get that. Don't add to the hype.

The prat will get community service (say a couple hundred hours) and the guy he threw it at will sue him for millions for "emotional trauma", and then settle out of court.

I hate the litigiousness of the US legal system, but I hate that asshole Crowe more.

yeah, but if a phone is deadly and dangerous, what is next? ...a shoe?

Sorry sir, you can't can't come to America until you get rid of those shoes!
Totally agree that Crowe is an asshole.

Crowe's a fuckhead, yeah...

Anyone remember the thing a few (well, 6-8) years ago, where a (black) guy in NYC tried to pull his mobile phone out of his pocket and the cops put 41 bullets in him?

The whole "don't take your phone to America" thing reminded me of that. Not Crowe's actions.

latch - sounds like shoot first, ask questions later. It is sad that (especially US) society is heading in that direction.

I hope Crowe gets prison time or at least some more harsh than just a slap on the wrist. His movies are good but I don't think it's because of him, I guess the team behind him are the brains. He's just a cocky bastard who deserves to be taken down a peg or two. Being banned from working in the US would be a step in the right direction I think.

^^ Rlyss, I don't think that would hurt him too much, but I'd have to agree.

He's actually quite embarrassing...

This is ridiculous. American soccer moms who talk on the phone while driving an SUV are much more dangerous than this guy. Why aren't they ever arrested?

I like Russell Crowe and can understand moments of rage when you get frustrated because I've done it myself, although I've never thrown anything at someone before.

He needs some anger management help I suppose. I hope this helps him work things out on an emotional level even if it will cost millions by the time it's all over.
