Kitsilano calling...

Hi. I've moved from Switzerland, travelled around the Gulf Islands and am now settled in Kits.

I'm loving every minute of being here! Great country/city/neighbourhood.

Anyone out there (locally)? I'd like to arrange to meet up with fellow TFPers if anyone feels like it.

I used to live there (West 1st and Vine), but I have (sadly) moved to Toronto. I gaze fondly at the webcam pointed at Kits beach ( http://members.shaw.ca/kitsbeachwebcam/ ) or the Burrard Street Bridgeg & English bay: (http://www.katkam.ca/ ) or jericho beach: (http://www.jericho.bc.ca/webcam/webcam.html )

enjoy your new neighbourhood.

Oh Janey, so sad!

Keep an eye on the Kitsbeach webcam, and we'll wave to you when we go past on our evening walk!

Toronto. I've only been there once. Aren't the winters a bit cold?

lol were the winters cold in Switzerland? The average temperature in Toronto inthe winter is -6C. that doesn't seem cold, but it can (and did) go as low as -30 for short stretches of time. Just like it can get very hot here. today it is 32 degrees C, with a humidex of 36 C.

As for living in Toronto, while i do miss the physical / geographical aspect of Vancouver, I find it much more vibrant here from a lifestyle perspective. I live close to the beach, and have gone sailing, sail-boarding and scuba diving in the past 3 days, and the longest I had to drive was 1.5 hrs. I also love the sheer number and variety of restaurants here. Something that I always miss when I visit Vancouver...

How will I recognise you when you wave at the Kits beach cam???

I'm glad you're liking it over there!

I'm the guy on www.lewisevans.net, and I'll be arm in arm with www.olgasheean.com, my lovely wife.

Hi Lewis, Glad you made it - and found a good place to live. We spoke before you moved. I remember that your wife was involved with one of the local natural health papers once upon a time. Looks like she has an even better career going on now. I'm in town, but am unable to connect for a few months. Keep in touch. (And if you guys ever eat meat, try Vera's - It's one of my few vices)

Hi JJ, good to hear from you. Let's make that a date at Vera's when you re-emerge!

Hi Merlocke. Thai was great! And it was very good to meet you. We'll be setting up that other meeting soon.

Hey Lewis, I'm clawing my way out! How's life in Vancouver so far? Been to Vera's? Enjoying this weather? I may have time for a Vera burger or some such at the end of the month.

By the way, great drawings!

Yes, I'm definitely staying here. Would you like me to post some warm pictures in the winter?

I've been dealing with all the worst that life has to offer. (Janey would understand...) but I'm working out the other side. I'll see if I can free up a night at the end of the month and let you know.

Sorry to hear you've been having difficulties, but I look forward to meeting up.

Stay strong!

Well, the picture on your avatar works for me. I don't think about snow looking at someone as beautiful as that!
