Xbox 360 Fan Stand

So I've recently heard of this new fan stand for the 360 which helps support the xbox as well as cool it with a built in fan.

What I wanna know is, what about those of us who have our xboxes laying down? I want to cool and prolong my system too!

Hey, it kind of looks like that thing I used to use to figure out my shoe size at the shoe store...

Well, if you spent $400+ (in some cases) buying this fantasterrific, next-gentastic, state of the art piece of console greatness....what's another $20 to make sure it doesn't...I don't know...melt? I mean, you're already bent over the barrel, right?

I don't mean to knock the 360 owners..gods know, I would've been right there with you, if I could've found a place to buy one.

I personally think that it's a waste of money. Plus you won't know until you plug in the unit how loud the unit is. As long as your 360 is in a well-ventilated area, you'll be fine.

Oh, and whenever you move your 360 from a vertical to horizontal position, make sure there's no game disc inside.

One more thing - I've seen this fan stand at brick-and-mortar GameStop stores for only $14.99 USD.

I've got my 360 on its side. I've played a couple of 6+ hour marathons of gaming on the odd Sunday. No problems with overheating at all. I've also got it in a decently ventilated area. I think this is just a waste of money. Just don't put your 360 on a pillow or in a shoebox and you will be fine....

I wonder if xboxes are actually overheating, or if this "problem" was something created by retailers. All i'm saying is that the EB near my house seems especially shady.
