Cybernations - for those that like politics

For those that like politics, I play a game called Cybernations.

You get to run your own nation. The funnest part of the game is the alliance you join though.

I've been a member of The Grandlodge of Freemasons for over a year now I think. We're a great bunch of guys and gals. Some are real life Freemasons too!

I'm... um... I'm not sure if this is spam or not. If it isn't then interesting.

What's the game like? I've tried many browser based games like Nation States and and Travian but I've found that they're extremely limited to what can be accomplished in a day. I like to play 3-4 hours a day when I get the chance but most of the games you log in once a day, use your turns in 10 minutes and you have nothing to do. It's hard for me to stay interested in a game like that.

So, Assuming this isn't spam, hell even if it is spam, Convince me that this game is worth playin.

So far it's interesting. You start out by choosing the name of the country, the leader's name (you), currency, tax rate, national religion, war/peace preference, and a brief bio. From there your country is given money to invest in land, infrastructure, "improvements", military, technology and wonders. You have to pay bills and collect taxes when they're due.

The fun part, I'd imagine is when it comes to interaction. I'm not quite there yet, although I've already had invitations from multiple alliances. Several of them promised to give me money, which I find a bit off-putting. As a liberal, I'm wary of international aid.

I created the republic of Jarmo, the first known city, and I put it where it used to be, in Northern Iraq (I thus have Arab citizens). So far, I've purchased 30 soldiers, paid my bills, collected taxes, invested a bit in infrastructure (8.00, whatever that means), but I'm waiting on "improvements" and "wonders" which, like Sim City, require certain requirements before becoming available. I have 112 citizens and apparently they're happy. So far it's like Sim City without the fun graphics.

Glad to see I got a couple of people playing.

This isn't spam. I just thought this would be a good place to share this game.

With cybernations, all you're going to do each day really is pay taxes. It gets interesting during wars. We just went through a global war. It was the biggest interactive war in the cyberverse ever. The top alliiance in the game was taken down.

There are 30,000 nations. Many of them were engaged.

The fun in this game comes from joining an alliance.
