How long did it take?

Just wondering how long it takes the normal gamer to finish FF VII.....took me three years.

um like a month, i really didnt play it that often, i wanted to make it last as long as possible. But to get all the materia mastered and all that took much much longer.

Game time was 60 hours, including time left on to sit while I went to class because I couldn't find a nearby save spot. I did not defeat some of the crazy monsters, but I did get KOTR and so forth, chocobo breeding galore. A great game. I am thinking about pulling it out again, but I could just play 8, or 9, or 10 for the first time instead...

I think it took about 25 hours game time, but it took me about 10 days. FF7 was the reason I bought a PS1 in the first place, I really should play it again sometime.

Took me like 8 years to beat Final Fantasy IV (I took about 8 years off).

Final Fantasy VII is easily 2-4 weeks for a normal gamer playing 2-6 hours a day.

Probably about four weeks. I don't know the exact hours. I took a break in the middle of game play for about a month.

Sometimes I'd spend all day playing it. Sometimes just a couple hours.

I think game time really depends on how much you explore the game outside of the main storyline.

And I'm guessing you must have explored every inch of the FF world unless you took alot of time off in between playing the game.

I bought it the day of release - still haven't finished it. Everytime my girl dies I start over I know there's no way to avoid it but I just can't move on from there. Finished FFX though.

I tried to play it a bit, but didn't really enjoy it, so I let my older brother play it, and he got hooked. Now he is an avid FF fan.

You guys should check out the "Final Fantasy X" VCD movie. 4 hours of amazing graphics.

OMG!!!!! 9 is the worst!!!! I can literally beat it, all mini quests included, in about 18 hours!!! It's really pathetic and bad, it only sold a lot of copies because it has the FF name on it!

Yeah, I found FFIX pretty disappointing as well. Eight was flawed, but at least it was ambitious.

I spent around 60 hours on FFVII, including the time it took to level to 99, defeat the weapons, gather all the master materia, etc.

100+hours on FF10 (When Yuna hit for 99,999...I could sigh with relief.)

FF9 sucks.

FF8 Had about 90 hours

FF7 Had about 99 hours.

I like to max my characters if possible.

Me too! I played it when i was kinda young and got to the last boss and kept getting murdered and i got so frustrated i quit. Then i came back to play it several years later but the save was deleted(stupid SNES battery or whatever) and i played through and beat it. Loved that game.

FF7 took about a month or so on and off.
FF8 and FF9 I could never really get into, and are still works in progress.

Been oh-so-long since I played this game. Really awesome game as mentioned before. I never got all those summons and fancy junk. My general strategy for playing RPGs is to simply level up to level 99 and then have my characters so strong that I can just whoop and enemy's ass I recently conquered "Xenosaga Episode 1: Der Wille Zur Macht" in this same fashion. FFVII took me around 80 hours, and Sephiroth was really easy

It took me about 45 hours to beat the first time around.
I took it really slow though - so it streched from about may to august back in 97' i think. I just had so much fun playing it that I didn't want it to end.

"had this crazy idea of having 3 kotr summons and miming them or something."

*laughs* Yea my friend and I had plans and diagrams trying to figure that one out. It would take a year and a half for all the summon vids but it would do a billion zillion damage.

ps. FF7 had become my favorite game (single piece of media) based only on its story and depth of the characters.

Eh, I'm not an avid RPG player, but FF7 and Mario RPG are the only two I really like alot (Chrono Trigger's pretty decent, too). Therefore, I'm not that great in them, usually. Anyways though...with all that said, it took me around 110 hours to beat FF7 my first time, and I was probably a Level 75, I think?
