Anyone here play America's Army (Army Ops) ?

If you haven't tried it, I suggest you do if you like FPS games. Very realistic, I like it way better than CS.

PS. This is probably been posted, but im new here and couldn't find anything on it.

1.9 was alot of fun. One of the most realistic military games out there atm.
Wish they had voice com but I think that will be in added in the future.
Haven't tried 2.0 yet tho.

I loaded it onto my system, and all of a sudden my firewall lit up like a christmas tree. Seems that a program embedded in the game decided to try to "call home". Needless to say said game was deleted right off my hard drive that instant. Not to be a tinfoil hat wearing kinda guy, but the Government gives out free software that starts dialing out as soon as I install it??????????

I like it, but I find the hit detection to be a bit screwy sometimes. Moving, 10 feet away, firing an entire clip SHOULD hit the guy.

It is a fun game, haven't played in awhile so I haven't seen special forces yet but want too. Honor system kinda sucks as it could be exploited and keep better players from getting the guns they wanted. But being a free game who can complain!

Aw, because you can't shoot a weapon to get past the easy training, you like CS better. How... sad =(

But yeah, i'm kinda pissed at 2.0 and the problems they've been having with it. I had to download an outside game browser just to join servers, hopefully they will fix it soon. But the SF missions are fun, other than recon, which is fucking retarded.

I put it on my computer, but it would never register when I beat a training, so each time I logged on, I had to do it again.

The training for SF was a little long for my taste. I understand the concept they are going for, but felt like I was in school again becasue I almost fell asleep in class.

I heard that it was ment to act as a P.R tool, to encourage enlisting, esp people with good P.C skills. ( To encourage them to subscribe to having to follow a set course- dictated by them).

I would not be happy with having Goverment freewares on my P.C especially if it does dial out a lot.

Tried it but it was a little to realistic for me. Plus hated waiting around for 10 mins for all the campers to get killed before the round restarted.

I couldn't stand the game. As usual, there's already a thread started about it, but it'd be hard to find without the search function. I went through the training course, and it gave me an M-16 I believe and told me to hit the targets. Well, I aim, make sure it's on the target, and shoot. NOTHING! Try again, nothing! I try ALL of the targets and I can't hit any of them. I'm decent at FPS; it's not like I suck or anything, but I couldn't finish it.

Call of Duty is worth every penny. What a damn good game. Not many WWII games can compare when it comes to single-player action.

Well, thousands upon thousands of people play this game, so did you ever stop to think that maybe you just aren't that good at shooting a gun? It really isnt that hard to figure out. If your not hitting the target when you aim to a certain spot, aim to a different one.

Don't be a smartass.

I said at the end that I'm decent at FPS. I know it's "not that hard to figure out." You aim with the cursor and shoot the target. If I aim at a target and shoot one round at a time and empty out an entire clip without hitting the target, then I'm not going to play it. Maybe the regular version after the training is funner, but I wasn't willing to spend hours just to hit a few targets.

Remember, kids: don't feed the trolls. As for the trolls, stop doing it. People are allowed to disagree with you. Stating or insinuating that other people suck because they don't enjoy the same things as you should have stopped in elementary school, maybe 6th grade at the latest.

Chill guys, I wasn't trying to be a smartass, and am I not allowed to defend my position when someone disagrees on it? I was also giving advice, you DO have to aim a bit off sometimes to hit the targets, especially on the first test. People are allowed to disagree with me, but I should be allowed to disagree with them as well. Sorry if your feelings were hurt, but try not to take everything so seriously...

Nah, i'm gonna have to go with Nimbletoe on this one. If you couldn't get past target practice then there is a good chance you aren't meant to be playing FPS

Lighten up kids, its just games we are talking about

That's how it would seem in most games, but none of my friends have been able to get past it either (well, after spending 15-20 minutes shooting at the 2 or 3 targets). And it doesn't mean we're not supposed to be FPS players -- maybe the game doesn't recognize hits the same as most FPS? I'm a big Battlefield 1942 fan. I play it frequently online and do well, so it's not that I'm not up for FPS. I don't know, maybe if I spent more time with it I'd get the hang of it, but after I shot that same damn target with a few clips and hit nothing I was getting a little irritated. I aimed directly at it, to the left, right, up and down, but no matter where I aimed on the target it simply wouldn't register. Perhaps the people that have had trouble played a bugged demo? The people that enjoy the game don't report any problems like this, and the people that don't play it have said that it's all did the same thing. I'm tempted to download it again and try it out!

AA is a good game, the SF mod just made it better.

if yer having problems qualifien with a weapon, put your mouse sensitivity to "1" and try again. i was able to easily hit 38 out of 40 doing that, but with it on my "normal" sensitive range i would be lucky to get 30.

I thought it was a nicely done game, but the pace was a tad too slow for my liking. Like somebody previously mentioned, waiting for the last few campers to kill themselves ended up being the reason I clicked the uninstall. Hopefully when Halflife 2 comes out, the Counterstrike mod using its new engine will be a fresh new game for me. Counterstrike was a little more my pace.

To be honest, i've also quit playing it because of the campers (it started to get really bad, people being afraid of dying so they just sit way back and camp, even on assult) and the server browser just isn't working for me.
