Hearing this news, all we find ourselves thinking is "PRICE CUT" for America. Will it happen? You'll have to wait with us until Microsoft announces something. Stay tuned.

The XBox is now $150 in Japan. It would be great if it came down in the US as well...I think it's only a matter of time. And the PS2 needs to hurry up and drop to $99!

keep in mind that the xbox does HORRIBLE in japan.
The japanese dont really like it.. it's huge, the controller for it was huge, it has bad games available over there, oh yeah and it was codenamed "project midway" before releases..

hmm.. but here's to lower prices!

Yeah, but Japanese gamers aren't interested in GC and PS2 much either. The Gameboy is easily the most popular in Japan. Oh well, all we can do is hope that the PS2 and XBox go down in price this Christmas.

Yeah in Japan the X-Box is "that American console" whereas the PS2 is the "Home Console".

Its going to be $150 bundled with two games, unless Sony goes even cheaper I can't see why they'd cut it so low. Maybe 129.99, but to go 99.99 with probably 2 years before the new Xbox... that would be profit suicide, you would be killing any and all profits even from game licenses for the forseeable future just to maybe get a 20 percent increase in sales...

Besides, who really cares? I already own an xbox and a playstation 2, what is that price drop going to mean for me? It means I get to listen to MORE cheap bastards bitch and moan everyday about how games cost too much because their system is almost as much as the game. If you can't afford the system at $150 or even $199 you aren't going to be able to afford the games you want to play on it anyway...

Even though the Gameboy is king over there, the GC and PS2 are very much loved in Japan, and for good reason. They X Box is hated in Japan for good reason.
