PSX Emulator ?

Hello. I recently bought some second-hand Playstation CD's with the intent of playing them on my pc through emulation. Problem is, I just can't seem to find a decent emulator.

I've heard a lot about Bleem being very good, but apparently it's not being sold anymore and it's very hard to find a full version of it on the net. And I'm not going to ask for it here since that would be considered warez, I guess.

So my question is, do any of you emulation guys know of a good, free PSOne emulator with the following features:
  • Hardware acceleration
  • Gamepad support
  • Ability to read from HD as well as CD
  • Doesn't run like shit on a 3Ghz Pentium IV
  • Supports FFVII and MGS (the two games I bought)

Thanks in advance.

PSEmu Pro if you're willing to take the time to download the proper drivers and stuff to optimize perfromance on you're computer. Personally, I have a laptop so my performance is limited and I had to sacrifice sound with any emulator to get the video to work flawlessly on my computer. Unless you have a kickass computer you'll probably have to lower some performance too. Anyway, the only other one that's any good is Bleem.

you could also pony up the whopping 20 bucks and buy a used psx/psone or buy a new one for under 50. Just a suggestion...

He's right, they're awfully cheap, I just bought a Nintendo 64, Episode I Racer, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a Joytech Rumble Pack/Memory Unit, RFU Cable and two controllers for around $30 USD. Freakin' bargin.

Okay, someone suggested ePSXe to me and it works like a charm. Thanks for the help though.

Whatever happened to Bleem? I thought that was a pretty neat program and yet I did not hear anyone mention it.

The one for Dreamcast got cancelled due to lawsuits.

If your cool with ps1 games being in the "okay to download and play because some of the earlier ones are clearly abandonware" category then an emulator makes everything easier.

I mean, I would murder someone for a copy of Front Mission 3 but no dice.

Yeah, you know I almost have to agree with that, because while I have a pretty nice collection of Sega Saturn games that I love and cherish - they are impossible to find other than eBay. If you do happen to go to eBay expect to get raped over a barrel for some of the games I have, and that's just not fair really. I mean - why should a game become so collectable just because the company won't re-release them or something?

I've tried Bleem, CVGS and ePSXe, and ePSXe is the only one I liked. You need to find a playstation bios file, but hey, this is the internet, it shouldn't take more than half an hour!

Bleem has been dead for a long long time. I think it's because they were trying to sell it for profit, and there's just no way for that to work. I highly, highly reccomend ePSXe to any of you that haven't tried it yet.
