If you could program G4...

I've been looking over G4 again lately and find myself really insulted with the programming they try to dish out. Like too many other shows that cater to gamers, it desperately tries to be "edgy" and ends up being stupid. So it got me thinking... if I could run this network, what would I program?

I like the idea of the Icons/Game gods shows, though the execution is flawed. I'd also like to see a Larry King style show, where a knowledgeable host does a Q&A with a developer. (Someone like Blue from Blue's News, say...)

So what programming would YOU like to see on the ideal gaming network?

First of all, there should be game review shows with REAL reviews. It always seems like game reviewers are in publisher's pockets. "Yeah, this game's pretty good. If I didn't have anything else to do, I'd probably play it. I give it a 4." Screw that! If it sucks, it sucks! Not every game is good!

How about gaming trivia game shows? That could be fun.

I think it's probably unavoidable that a "network for gamers" is going to try to sell a certain lifestyle. Every targetted network has done that since MTV invented it in the '80's. I guess G4's numbers are probably telling them just how badly they're missing the boat, though.

First off, PLAYERS or whatever that shit is called, IS GONE. Who gives a shit about some dumb-shit actress I never heard of, play some games (YOU KNOW) that she would never play to begin with. Other than that, its a pretty cool cable station.

I'm thinking G4 is gonna get purchased by Comcast and combined with Tech TV, which could be pretty cool. Maybe they can revamp the shitty programming on G4, or just take some of the good shit on G4 and put it on Tech TV.

I'm on a fence about Players...every episode I've seen has been horrible, except one, but that one had the D on it. The D!

Priority #1 for me if I ran G4 would be to get better onscreen personalities.

After that, I'd like to see the gameshow thing implemented, *in-depth, honest* reviews of the biggest games hitting, a whole half hour. I'd like shows devoted to game types, including but not limited to, mini-series showing the development of the genre's.

I do enjoy Starcade?

The game show where the contestants (that are aged 30+), play old school arcade games.

It's funny and I like the grand prizes, because they really show the age of the show well.

It's also funny to see these adults struggling through games that are childlishly easy in the 21st century.
