				OpenGL & UT2004
Hey, playing the new UT2004 and I run into some sketchy problems every now and then with the game running funny, frame skips and stuff. My system is more than fine, running AMD Barton 2500+, 512 RAM, GeForce 5900. Newest video drivers installled as well. My question is how would I go about changing the type of rendering software used in the game. Its setup to Direct3D and I am not able to switch to OpenGL. I played Unreal Tournament 2003 with the same problem and when I switched to OpenGL it ran perfectly. Id appreciate any suggestions.

| Sultana ruined my evil persona Location: Los Angeles | Go to the ut2004.ini file and look for: Engine.Engine] RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice ;RenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice ;RenderDevice=Engine.NullRenderDevice ;RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice ;RenderDevice=PixoDrv.PixoRenderDevice remove the ; to the OpenGL line and add it to the D3DDrv line. I tried it tho and it ran like crap

| lost and found Location: Berkeley | It could be a heat issue. You might want to try running with the computer's side panel off, in the short term. In the long term, I'd recommend some additional system fans, preferably hooked up to a fan controller.

| Insane Location: Chicago | Thanks Krycheck, that worked but like you, it was pretty shitty results. As far as heat, Im running pretty cool at 25 degrees, plenty of fans here. All else fails, I guess Ill just try a reinstall.

| All hail the Mountain King Location: Black Mesa | You don't need more RAM, throwing money at a problem may be the easiest solution, but there's gotta be a better way. I have an Athlon 2400+, 512 SDRAM and a GeForce4200+ (similar to yours) and everything seems to run OK on my end. But I'm afraid I don't have much advice to offer you.
