ok my room mate bought the half life platinum edition with half life, oppsoing force, team fortress classic, counter strike, and blue shift

each cd has a different cd key sticker so i bought one of the cds and cd key from him

i installed steam and have been playing for a couple weeks...

just today he decided to do the same since he had beaten the multiplayer...

but its telling him the other cd keys are already in use...

so now my question... are those cd keys all linked together and only good for one steam account?

in which case im using the other cd keys as well as the ones on the other cds...

If it's a platinum ed, they're probably linked together.

Try emailing Valve or STEAM and getting the official word, before you do anything drastic.

Don't tell them that you bought one key from your buddy though. They won't appreciate that.

Steam can suck my big fat @#% I was able to play TFC with no problems and I had to format my drive because IE errors left and right and nothing I did could fix it. Well I reinstalled everything and once I tried to log back into my account and play I was banned. Pissed me off because they never unban people. Its been a month now and they still havent done anything and I doubt they will. Steam is the worst program invented by man.

yah im not caring for it too much...

the only good thing i can find in it is that i can alt-tab out of halflife... then come back and still have sound...
