The audio and lighting are twice as scary as the monsters themselves. You can't see it but the lights keep going out, and people are screaming/dieing/shouting for help on voice com. I keep thinking of system shock 2 when I am playing this game, that is a big compliment. I'm hoping a few servers are up so I can test the Multiplayer. Honestly, I wouldn't go online with it yet, that's risky since the relase date is in 2 days. But if you do, let me know if you find any. :)

scary as hell, heh. but i need to upgrade my video card/ runs decent, but not perfect. P4 3.02GHz 1024 RAM Geforce 2 MX :( your screens are awesome looking, I reached where you at at that moment. I love the HUD, and the PDA interface. |

And I'm sure if I kept up being a computer gamer, I would be able to run this. But I have switched to being an xbox gamer, so I'll have to wait for the port for that. Unfortunately it won't have the mp capabilities that I want. Oh well. |

Unlike many others, I actually went out and paid 55 bucks for the game. Online play is fun, but I think the real candy will be in the mods. Currently, the only people that are playing online are not that good at FPS's, and there's really no *true* competition.
I've gotten to the hell level, where currently i'm stuck with low ammo trying to fight a huge daemon. I'm getting a constant 50 FPS and only dip if I'm getting hailed with bullets from machine gunners. I'm also running Direct X 9.0c and have nVidia 61.77 Video Drivers installed. |
Deflock, I took almost exactly the pics you did for #3/4/6. I've had em in my directory for awhile ( http://www.torontofunleague.com/Evan/d3 ). I just find that really funny.
My sys specs are: Amd64 3200+ 1gb DDR400 ATI 9800xt Sennheiser pc155 headset/onboard nforce + logitech z680 1280x1024 High Quality, no AA, all the gadgets turned up. 45 avg fps (or so fraps tells me). |

The game is running like a champ--It rarely drops below the cap of 60FPS. Athlon64 3000 GeForce 6800 (not GT) 1GB DDR400 1280x1024, High Quality. Badass. |
So I'm kind of confused. I haven't had the time to do all the research to find out when/where I can pick up this game. Do you guys have it already because you preordered it? Best Buy said they'd have it this Friday at the *earliest*.

How in the hell do ya'll have time to take screenshots while being attacked!? I die in 3 seconds if I don't bring the pain to them ASAP. Kick ass game by the way...running DAMN well on my GeForce 4 TI4200 128 MB. Athlon XP 2500+ with 768 MB of RAM as well.

The game actually starts to get a bit difficult when you get in the lower delta lab areas. The game gives WAY too many health/armor powerups on marine difficulty. Most of the enemies are pretty stupid, except for those zombies marines - those guys are hardcore with riotshield. I do like how I am forced to cycle weapons depending on what kind of ammo the game is giving me. I'm a BIG fan of the shotgun since it is so damn powerful, and the reload is quick when you need just one more shot. The tactic I use is just to sprint straight into an enemy and fire the shotty point blank, unless it is a chaingun, chainsaw or rocket using enemy. That strategy will pretty much kill anything in one blast if it hits the face with the majority of the blast. This tactic is so much more efficient than spamming a 1/3 to 1/2 of a magazine of plasma or assault rifle ammo. |

lovin' the game so far. ID has totally outdone themselves. Just wish I had 5.1 instead of 2.1. Guess I should move my rig upstairs and hook it to my home theatre system instead :D
