ok i was on amazon to pre order halo 2 and i saw there was a collectors edition for like $5 more.

Anyone know what that means, and is the game the same???

Same game with a metal case, and a DVD added featuring some of the making of. To any fan, a must purchase.

The collector's edition is just a gimmick to eke a few more dollars out of you.

Bonus stuff isn't worth it, in my opinion. I don't really give a shit how the game was made. If I did, I'd download the "Making of Halo 2" movies on my computer for free.

I'm kind of in the middle, I think it's probably a waste of money, however, it would look pretty imposing to have an oversized metal case in your stack of games screaming, "I love mah Halos."

I've already put some money down on Halo 2 (regular version). I'm not going to get the collector's edition, I didn't really think Halo was that great to begin with (it was good, but it isn't this groundbreaking revolutionary FPS like many make it out to be). I don't really give a fuck about the metal case or the "behind the scenes" footage, when I can download the extra movies off the internet. However, I would get it if it actually had some worthy extras (exclusive levels, weapons, skins, game soundtrack, etc).

I think I'll renew my subscription to xbox live then too.
Just for kicks, it's been expired since it first came out. (I also beta tested it. That was fun. and I live in canada, that doesn't happen very often.)

I'm always a sucker for anything CE. I alwyas like haveing my DVD/Game collection look all funky with outaplace boxes. just gives your collection more life then the boreing all in a row stacked neatly set up.

LOL Mine looks like the second one. I try and get all the double disc tri-packs or special editions out. But if the movie kicks ass I buy it first day! Like I got Dawn Of The Dead on preorder!
