James Bond: Everything or Nothing - Catching Serena

Okay...
JESUS CHRIST!!!! WHAT MORON MADE THAT SEQUENCE
I am playing it on gamecube and I cannot figure out what the hell is up with it.
I have checked every guide on gamefaq and followed all the advice.
I hit no ledges or objects on the way down, I don't get hit by rockets or get hit by gunfire. Well except for the guy on the first cliff (he hits me before I can target him), but that's it. I get both bond moments on the way down and don't shoot at anything else. I maneuver as little as possible.
And I still can't pick her up at that last stupid wooden ledge! She is way below me by the time I get there and it doesn't go into some sort of automatic ending sequence. It's totally farked up. Is there some way I can speed my fall?

Does anyone know what to do to beat that sequence?

I beat it the first time. I don't remember it being as hard as you describe, lol. I have the xbox version, but have you tried pushing down as you fall to let you swoop down? If a route may help, I stayed to the left as much as I could, then swooped off to the right at the end to nab her.

Well now... that was a waste of two hours

Mods please delete this thread

Well I found out what the problem was.

I would classify it as a bug...
If you don't press and hodl down before the video sequence starting Serena's fall ends then you have no hope of catching here.

No matter how soon you press down as the videosequence ends you have no chance of beating the sequence.

I disagree with this statement. I didn't press down before the sequence, I just held down throughout the fall, and I caught her.

You fall at the same rate whether you press down or not during the fall.
The issue is when you jump off the cliff when the video sequence ends. The gamecube version starts her falling before the video ends on screen and if your not pressing down during the fade in to the game you won't get off the cliff in time.

The key to winning the sequence is to ignore Serena alltogether and just focus on not hitting anything on the way down.
