Top 5 XBOX games?

Alright, well, I'm expecting my XBOX to show up in the mail any time soon, so I just want to know which XBOX games are the most fun to play overall. I'm probably gonna be playing the heck outta the system, so I might as well be playing the heck outta some great games, right?

Oh yeah, please don't mention Halo or Halo 2. I already know those games are good. :)

Cynthetiq 12-28-2004 02:01 PM

I'm digging:

Rainbow Six 3 & Black Arrow
Burnout 3: Takedown
Xmen Legends

Jimellow 12-28-2004 02:07 PM

There are quit a few really good games for XBox.. Do you prefer certain genres over others?

Ripsaw 12-28-2004 02:50 PM

Ninja Gaiden
Star Wars KOTOR

blitz.fenix 12-28-2004 03:05 PM

Half-Life 2
Ghost Recon 2

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2
Ninja Gaiden
Burnout 3: Takedown
Splinter Cell 1 and 2
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Those are the few that come to the top of my head. Burnout 3, KOTOR, and Ninja Gaiden are worth buying the system for.

If you like RPG's, Morrowind:Game of the Year Edition can be quite addictive.

cataklysm 12-28-2004 11:18 PM

Burnout 3: Takedown
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (both verions)
Ninja Gaiden
Rainbow Six 3
And despite being short, I reallyed enjoyed Fable.

lpj8 12-28-2004 11:42 PM

I know this is more than 5, but there are many really good games out for the Xbox

If you like Sports Games: Any of the EA Sports/ESPN Series, Top Spin
If you like Racing: Burnout 3, Rallisport Challenge 2
If you like RPGS: Fable, Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, Morrowind
If you like Action/Adventure: Ninja Gaiden, Beyond Good and Evil, Mech Assault 1 and 2, Crimson Skies, Splinter Cell
If you like FPS (other than Halo of course): Chronicles of Riddick
If you like Fighting: Dead or Alive Ultimate

Porkchop 12-29-2004 12:18 AM

As above very hard to say as there are lots of games worth getting. Makes you glad you got rid of your ps2. Even my son plays on it.
These cant go wrong with.
Burnout 3.
Pro Evo 4
Halo 2
Fable etc.

dbc 12-29-2004 10:30 PM

ninja gaiden
fable
burnout 3
kotor
madden

Those are the games that I have played the most.

pixelbend 12-30-2004 06:32 AM

All of these are great titles.

Lets don't forget Splinter Cell 1 and 2. PsiOps is a great game too, but I would probably not put it in my top five. Suprisingly, if you are a fan of the Simpsons, the Simpsons:Hit and Run is a blast.

Jesus Pimp 12-30-2004 07:44 AM

Ninja Gaiden
Otogi 1 & 2
Burnout 3
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Dead or Alive Ultimate
Guilty Gear XX #Reload
Soul Calibur 2
KOTOR: 1 & 2
Bard's Tale
Jet Set Radio Future
Halo 2
Splintercell 1 & 2
GTA Double Pack (GTA: SA coming to Xbox early next year)
ESPN NFL 2k5

Stay far far away from (save your cash)
Fable
Morrowind

pixelbend 12-30-2004 08:20 AM

I personally don't know why you would stay away from Morrowind. You can pick it up at EB for $10 or less and it will give you and addictive total emersing world plus about 300 hours of gameplay. I was hooked on it for at least two months.

Jesus Pimp 12-30-2004 09:28 AM

It's generic and pretentious. I rather play Arx Fatalis.

-----------------
My picks
- Ghost Recon 2
- Need For Speed Underground 2(1 is good to)
- Halo 2
- Rainbow Six 3
- Burnout 3: Takedown(good game but gets boring after you beat it, not much replay value in this game)

CityOfAngels 12-31-2004 12:52 AM

Hey, thanks, all! I went game shopping tonight and bought the following so far for about $80 total:

Shenmue 2
Morrowind
Counter-Strike
Fight Night 2004
Grand Theft Auto 3 (I just had to see what all the graphical differences were that people are talking about)
Beyond Good & Evil
Unreal II

Next time I head out, I'll have a print out of this thread. Thanks all! :)

vengeance 01-01-2005 05:07 AM

Ghost Recon 2
Project Gotham Racing 2, good XBL racing game
ESPN NFL2k5
KOTOR 1&2

I hope you have XBL, otherwise CS was a waste of money :\

itch vaccine 01-01-2005 06:33 AM

I was wondering why no one mentioned Project Gotham Racing.. until the last post :)

whocarz 01-01-2005 08:16 AM

I don't normally play the Xbox, but Ghost Recon 2 is good. It is also hard. In fact, I've only managed to beat the first mission, and that was with three of my friends playing at the same time. It does a good job of simulating the terror and confusion of a battle.

Justsomeguy 01-01-2005 12:23 PM

Halo 1 and 2
KOTOR 1 and 2

Only games on the x-box that I enjoy that are x-box exclusive. All others are multi-platform.

BigGov 01-01-2005 01:03 PM

Oh, the Splinter Cell games are better on Xbox also.

The loading times, graphics, and levels themselves (just having more things/areas) are superior compared to the PS2 versions.

omega2K4 01-01-2005 02:36 PM

MechAssault 2.

Scorps 01-01-2005 06:10 PM

Need For Speed Underground 1 and 2

Or did I say that one already?

darens42 01-01-2005 09:12 PM

i must be living in the past - but i love ssx tricky

Redjake 01-01-2005 09:46 PM

Splinter Cell 1&2
Burnout 3: Takedown
Knights of the Old Republic
Ninja Gaiden
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Morrowind
Crimson Skies

Both Knights of the Old Republic and Halo are available on the PC. KotOR 2 will be in early 2005 and Halo 2 will be eventually.

pixelbend 01-04-2005 01:41 PM

I can't speak for KOTOR but if you haven't experienced Halo 1 or 2 on XBox, you haven't experienced Halo.

I agree. Many of the Halo Haters® played the PC version on their P3 500 MHz with their Radeon 9200s that they bought from Best Buy because Service Plan Johnny told them that It Had The Graphics®. The PC versions of Halo are embarassing. I've played both and the PC version made me cringe.

I've also heard that KOTOR is annoying on the PC because of the controls. Same problems with both games...the XBox controller is perfect for KOTOR and Halo.

Coppertop 01-04-2005 03:44 PM

Personally, I had no trouble with KotOR on PC. Never really understood why people had issue with it. For them, however, gamepads are actually available for the PC. Crazy, I know.

Ruse 01-04-2005 07:05 PM

Hmm, Id have to say something similar to redjake..

Burnout 3
Spliter cell : PT
Ninja Gaiden
Prince of Persia : Sands of time
Halo 2 ( solely for multiplayer )

Also, Fable was good ... while it lasted. :(

soccerchamp76 01-05-2005 01:42 AM

I couldn't tell you any games. I have only played Halo and Halo 2 but I consider the purchase (of gift in my case) of XBOX worthy just because of Halo 1 & 2. I palyed Counter-Strike for a couple hours but I quickly went back to Halo. Nothing beats it and you better have XBOX Live! as you can play anyone around the country. Halo just never gets old...

FngKestrel 01-05-2005 02:27 AM

Played through KOTOR on the PC and am playing KOTOR 2 on the XBOX. I'm finding the XBOX interface easier to use. When I played KOTOR on the PC, I noticed that it still suffered from consolitis. The buying interface and interaction didn't seem to utilize the mouse very well. The mouse implementation on PC was interesting to say the least, since it was used to click on screen commands and to steer the player. But I suppose if the game was originally deved for the PC and then ported to console, the reverse problems would appear.

ICER 01-08-2005 11:42 AM

Crimsion Skies
Hero's
Mechassault
Mechassault 2 (Lone wolf)
Simpson's Road rage

to name a few of my favorite

Carno 01-08-2005 12:50 PM

Why does everyone like Crimson Skies so much? That game bores the hell out of me.

I can't speak for anybody else, But I loved the board game, so to play it in video form, rocks,

It also would explain why I liked Mechassault as well, Since I've been playing Battletech since 1990

omega2K4 01-08-2005 02:01 PM

Crimson Skies is an excellent game to play on Xbox Live, the single player game ain't half-bad either. Too bad the Crimson Skies' XBL community is pretty much dead now, you might be able to get a few games, but not many. Most people are playing Halo 2, Rainbow Six, or MechAssault 2 (Made by the same guys who made MechAssault and Crimson Skies).

FngKestrel 01-08-2005 06:16 PM

Multiplayer Crimson Skies on PC was fun. It's satisfying to be chased by someone in a plane, fly through a hanger, and release a flare to blind them as they head into the hanger. :D

crossova 01-10-2005 09:34 AM

kotor2
ninja gaiden
madden 05
espn nba 2k5
burnout 3
nfs:u2
LOTR: The Third Age
Ghost Recon 2
