An old lady is awoken at midnight by a noise from her garden. She looks outside and sees two thieves breaking into her outhouse! She calls the Police . . . .

"I am very sorry lady but there are no officers available until the morning. We will send someone round then to take fingerprints"

5 minutes later the old lady phones the police again . .
"Its ok" she says "You dont need to bother sending an officer round in the morning, I have shot them dead!".

5 minutes later there are 3 police cars outside . . an armed response team, and 2 helicopters overhead with searchlights.

The police find and arrest the thieves in the outhouse.
"I thought you said you had shot them dead?" said the police cheif.
"I thought you said there was no-one available?" the little old lady replied
