Wikipedia for original research and ideas?

It's recently come to my knowledge that wikipedia.org does not allow any original research or ideas. Anything that you put up has to be citable and totally factual.

Is there such thing as a similarly organized and similarly populated site that allows for original ideas, research, and theories?

I know of Wikia and a few various sites like that, but the thing I don't like about Wikia is you have to create a Wiki community if what you want to put up something that doesn't really fit into any partiular catagory. For example, a while back I did a detailed study of the Warthog, a vehicle in the video game Halo. I imagined it as if it was a real-life vehicle and wrote up quite a bit of information about it. Though it is all basically factual information that I gathered through speculation and observation in the game, Wikipedia won't allow it to be posted because it isn't canon (not dictated by the creators of the game).

I was just seeing if anybody knew of any other popular editable encyclopedia type sites. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure for that kind of thing you would have to look at specialty sites, like a Halo Encyclopaedia site.

Allowing people to post their speculations and observations sounds like a blog to me, not necessarily encyclopaedia sites. I think your best bet would be looking around for sites looking specifically at each interest in depth and that allows guesswork and opinion work alongside the actual published fact (or lack thereof)

Bump to that. You need some credibility.

As already stated, a halo wiki would be the best place for an in-depth article on a vehicle from a video game.

Alternatively you could try everything2.com. It is not really a wiki, but it has some similarities. You could probably post your article there.
