I have these red bumps on my shoulder which developed over 4 days. Before it was just itchy, now its a little painful. It feels like my shoulder just had a workout. I have clobetasol propionate and ketoconazole treatments. don't know which one i should take... anyone can help please? any dermatologists can help me? anyone know free live chat sessions with doctors? thanks for the help!

I have a form of excema and when it flairs up I always put some sort of steroid on it. If you don't have any nice prescription strength ones try hydrocortozone cream. (I am not a doctor so listen to my advice at your own risk).

Yeah, the clobetasol proprionate is the prescription for excema. is it bad to try both treatments. i dont have health insurance anymore so i can't go into the clinic to get a check-up or else it would cost $300. thanks for the help.

I would think doing both would not be a good idea. Try 1 for 3 days if it doesn't help try the other.

Also i'd try googling your symptoms.

Is there any possibility that it could be zoster(shingles)? It tends to be a localized eruption of little red bumps that are usually painful. If it is can't do much for it unless you get treatment within the first 48 hrs or so.

many people with skin irritations/diseases are allergic or oversensitive to any chemicals- which if you were to get a prescription from your normal physician, that would only irritate it more or dry out your skin. Best is to see a naturopath and get a natural treatment- whether it be cream/lotion with all natural products, or even essential oil added. But first you need it diagnosed to know exactly what treatment they would recommend.

I'm not a doctor, but I have had to deal with both.

If you have tinea, and you put a steriod creme on it, it may get much, much worse. If it is eczema and you treat with an anti fungal, it probably won't get any worse, but won't get better either.

When you say this stuff makes you feel like you just got done working out, is it more than skin deep? Is there swelling? and is it spreading (circle it with a marker to see if it gets bigger)? If so, you may have a staph (or other bacterial) infection, which can kill you if it gets out of hand, and quickly. Neither eczema nor tinea, in my experience, will cause any significant swelling, they are just superficial and really annoying.

bedeuter is correct!

Okay, so before I went to the doctor today, I noticed little blisters where the rash was. I knew it was SHINGLES! So i went to the doctor and she confirmed it, but couldn't treat it. Right now, I'm just putting bacitracin (antibiotic ointment) on the infected/visible areas so I don't get an infection if they rupture. Is is bad if i cover the areas with gauzes so my shirt doesn't rub against them. This sucks man. Oh yeah, I also found out i've had shingles for many years but didn't notice. I know it stays dormant, but i have shingle scars all over my stomach and right side for over 10 years. LOL Doctor said under great stress you can break out. Well, they just look like very small mini blisters on my stomach which don't have any fluid inside. Man, I am a walking disease. This is the worst day of my life.

And i'm in pain. My neck hurts if I try to turn it. The biggest area infected is on my right shoulder. Some small ones on my bicep and back of neck. I just took 600mg of advil to ease the pain, but its not really helping. I do feel sleepy. Should I take vicodin? Not really sure. I can get some from my friend because she had surgery. Doc asked me if I wanted any painkillers, but I said no prescription because I didn't want to pay. LOL. But shingles is painful, really painful. Worse than getting kicked in the stomach, even though it's a different area. COMMENTS PLS! thanks for the help btw.

So, please people. DO NOT STRESS OUT. Or else you will get shingles!
