Promoting a web site?

Quick question for everyone...

I recently stumbled across a web site that really struck home for me, and after emailing the admin there, was given (with quite a bit of enthusiasm) the go-ahead to help direct some traffic over there.

I haven't really done anything like this before, and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

From my understanding, he has already submit his site to search engines, and is working on getting some links put up on other pages, but I want to help out as best as I can...

C'mon TFP - gimmie an ingenious idea

Suggestions are ok, but I'll just throw out the reminder that TFP has some pretty strict rules regarding how websites can be promoted here.

SEO - Search Engine Optimization. There are billions of things you can suggest to this webmaster to improve his/her site. Google up "Search Engine Optimization" and you'll find a bunch of resources. Also, there are a few exceptions, but establishing traffic will take months and months and months. Persistence is key.

Lol, I have already been informed, and will be cautious not to violate any rules that the TFP has in place. If, however, I overstep my boundries, please let me know
