Chase Rewards card related question...

With Citi Cards cutting their cash back rewards down to 2% (from %5 for gas and groceries), I recently did some searching, and found that Chase offers a Rewards card that implments points (1 point for each dollar spent).

The reward information includes the following:

Quote:

Your points may be redeemed on a large selection of rewards including:
  • checks - get a $25, $50 or $100 check
  • airline tickets or hotel stays - for just 25,000 points, claim a free round trip coach airline ticket on any major U.S. airline with no blackout dates, or redeem your points for hotel night stays or car rentals.
  • top quality merchandise - with redemption levels beginning at 2,500 points, there is a lot to choose from! Redeem from top brand names like Sony®, Weber® and Coach®.
gift cards/certificates to popular merchants - Starting at 1,000 points, you can redeem from some of the country's top restaurants and stores including Olive Garden®, Best Buy and The Home Depot®.

My question is in regards to their check offerings. Does anyone know how many points are required to "cash out" for the various amounts of checks in the Chase Rewards program?

They should have a book with what point levels you need for what item at any branch. :)

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, there aren't any Chase banks around here that I'm aware of.

I gather Chase used to have a 5% gas/groceries, 1% everything else card also, that is now discontinued. However, unlike Citi Cards, they seem to have grandfathered those that already had that deal, instead of defaulting everyone to the new, lower rewards, program like Citi.

I'd still be curious about the points to dollar reward ratio if anyone has it. I suspect it's not much more than the 1% that appears to be the new standard, though.

My bank's card rewards program goes through Mastercard. You have to get like 5500 points to get the 50 dollar check. It's on www.mcrewards.net
