How to go back to sleep after waking up to pee?

I always seem to wake at a certain time each night to pee, but I can never go back to sleep. Any advice on what I can do to get myself back to sleep?

Stop drinking so many liquids before bedtime, so you don't have to pee.

close your eyes. that helps me sleep.

Don't turn the light on in the bathroom, it will screw up your levels of melatonin. And stop drinking water before bed.

Close your eyes, and think of England.

I turn the tv on...... that always helps me.

I second the leaving the lights off. If you still can't get back to sleep, wake your partner up. And since you're both awake anyway........................ :)

Rub one out on the ole skin flute.

No lights - and only open your eyes as much as necessary.

Actually, the thing that will keep me awake is I start thinking about anything - ANYTHING. If I can keep thoughts out of my head until I stumble back to bed, I'm usually golden.

I had the same problem. Turned out that I wasn't warm enough. Even being a little cool can stop me, anyway, from getting back to sleep. Try putting on some extra gear -- even a pair of socks can help.

I agree with somebody else that playing the old skinflute can help -- cause that's what I used to do. Eventually, I realized that it was putting me to sleep because I was warming up from the exercise! Now, I just put on a sweatshirt or something.

cheers for the tips

i always squint and don't turn the lights on, that way your eyes still "feel" tired and you get back to sleep easily. UNfortuanlty sometimes you might miss the toilet, but that happens otherwise anyway! lol

if you're having trouble sleeping again, just have a wank.

also if it is golden or yellow, you should really drink more water.

Close your eyes and count sheep, thats wut I do, only difference is I count the number of Hooter Girls jumping over a fence in wet tee shirts, but what ever floats ur boat.

If you have a digital clock blaring the time at you, turn it away and try to sleep. I read math proofs when i wake up, and that puts me out in 20 mins.

Just go man just go!

Haha, just stay in the bed and hope for the best.

It's really easy

1) Don't worry about not getting back to sleep. If you're awake, you're awake, so do something - see (2)

2) Read a good book. Recommend a Wilbur Smith novel

You'll soon drop off

As much as it's been said already, don't turn on the light if you can help it, and only open your eyes as much as you need to. I personally try to have a small glass of milk before I go back to bed too, but not everyone likes that.
