Polarized sunglass problem

Hi all.

I just bought a pair of prescription polarized sunglasses. They weren't cheap, trust me. My problem is that they make me nauseous. Has anybody else had this problem? And, if so, were you able to get over it?

Thanks!

Wyo

yes. I had the same problem.

I still do. I don't like them so I don't wear them often. Next time will just be UV treated and no polarizing. BTW, note that sometimes you cannot see into some windscreens if you tilt your head sideways because the polarizing on both sides blocks out all light.

Also, some displays, like my car's, become invisible. Talk about a PITA!

Thanks for the replies. I was so shocked about the nausea that I thought that I was getting stomach flu or something. I did some quick research and found out that a small percentage of people just can't use polarized lenses. Luckily, I have a warranty. Wearing sunglasses that make me want to puke = return.

Fun Fact:

Polarized sunglasses block the red dot on many modern electronic weapon optics (such as EOTech HWS). Gun shooter guys don't use polarized lenses.

I get glasses from an online retailer. They cost around 30 per pair, and I typically order two or three at a time. At least one of them gets the optional tint and UV protection, and all get glare protection. Despite the cheap price they have been magnificent, and although they break easier I have had my current pairs for 2-3 years, so I've definitely gotten my money's worth. I think the site I used was called eyebuydirect or something. I am not affiliated with them beyond being a very satisfied customer.

I just thought I would provide an alternative route to go.

They also block the red electronic display on the super high speed dashboard of my Prius.

Prince, thanks for the reply. It isn't about the price really. But my sunglasses have to be prescription.

I tried the sunglasses again today, and within five minutes thought I was going to puke. So I'm going to have to take them back. Drag.

Glad I don't have that problem since I fish a lot and really need my sun glasses.
