asymmetrical strength

I have just started working out again after a long break, and I have noticed that one of my biceps is much weaker than the other. Specifically, my right arm is maybe 65% as strong as my left! So what can/should I do about this? When doing exercises like curls, should I stop the strong arm when the weak one craps out, since I don't want to be lopsided, or should I just keep going? Will this correct itself? Thanks for any insight!

Well I think you have two options (or you can combine the options into one).

Firstly, you could work your weak arm by itself to improve its strength to kind of get it to "catch-up" with your stronger arm. By this, I mean some dumbell exercises or something.

Or, you could do as you say -- do curls or something until your weak arm can't take it anymore.

Really I don't even think you'll have to worry about it much to get it to correct itself.

I've heard the key is to avoid exercises using both arms together (pulldowns, bar curls etc) as the stronger arm just takes over. Curls with individual dumb-bells will be much better. Just keep going and it'll come back when you make it work!

Don't skip working out the strong arm. Just do curls and do the weak arm first then match that with the strong arm.

Otherwise eventually when your weak arm catches up, you'll likely overtake the strong arm. This often happens in rehab after injuries to knees/shoalders/etc...

Never Skip the workouts on one arm ..

It will come with time .. Just have to wait it out ..
I've been about half a year to get my left arm to be as strong as my right one ..

I still have some problems with the size of the left one ..
Its more cut, but still about 1 inch from my right bicep
