Prices of cheap trip to amsterdam

Me and some of my close friends have been talking about a trip we want to plan after we graduate from high school in the latter part of the year.
It seems the general feelings of the group would be a trip to Amsterdam this summer.
Now remembering we are all 18 year olds making money from part time jobs, what do you think would be the cost of say a week trip (including plain tickets from florida, relativly cheap housing/ideas of cheap housings, food, etc) would come out to.
Any insight would be really appreciated, since it will take most of us a while to save up parts of our pay checks for this trip.
Thanks in advance for any info/comments!

Yoshi and I went to Amsterdam a couple of months ago. IIRC, it worked out to about $1400 per person for our package, which included airfare and a week's stay at the Swissotel (which was an incredible hotel and very conveniently located). You can probably find something cheaper if you're willing to compromise on accommodations and are flexible about when you fly.

We went through Expedia for our package and it couldn't have been smoother.

Like mrquackers...me and a buddy did Amsterdam for a week on about $1500. Through Travelocity, we got round trip tickets for $287....Our hotel..Roemer Vischer... just a block away from Leidseplein....which is one of the many "central" spots in the city...we stayed in for six nights, at or around $350. If you don't mind staying in a bunk house or hostel, you could do it for a considerable amount less. It has it's benefits, like meeting people from all over, and of course the price. It also has it's drawbacks...no privacy, and generally NOT co-ed. Our room had a balcony off of it, it was really close to resteraunts, coffeehouses, clubs, museums...
So that was the bulk of our expense...the rest was spending money. Your going to want to splurge when your there...so much good food, good smoke...if that's what your into, souveniers...what ever. It really sucks to have to borrow money from one of your friends on vacation, so go prepared. If you want any information on the hotel we stayed in, let me know....I'll get you some info on it.
Plan ahead...keep an eye out for a sweet airfare..and save those pennies!

Thanks for the tip on the Iceland Air thing, I'm going to check that out pronto. I hear Amsterdam calling. Smoking extended until the end of '04, but what then? I don't know.

If i were you guys i would just put all that extra money that you would have spent on plane tickets into buying more pot and praying you dont get caught.
That is why you are going right?

Because if not to smoke a "doob" why go to amsterdam in particular?

for the record stoners are morons

Maybe they really like Windmills and wooden shoes, or they could just be smart enough to think for themselves and not judge other people.

Or maybe they are going to see art, like the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art, or the Van Gough Museum. Perhaps they want to see the Anne Frank museum or maybe have a cannal cruise. Maybe they are going for the flowers or diamonds. Or maybe they just enjoy the idea of a place with tolerant people, with a creative and relaxed, "anything goes atmosphere". It may just be for the pot, but please don't judge people on what they do, until you truelly know.
