Not sure if this is the right forum for my question but it's the closest I could find I'm interested in a possible move to New Zealand and I'm curious about a work visa of some type. Any input would be appreciated.

My wife and I are interested in the same thing. Work visas for a few month's seem like they're not too hard to get. We would love to live there, but it looks to us like you either have to have a job offer (the employer must prove that the job was offered to native New Zealanders first), or you have to have skills that are on the "needed" list.

From outside the U.S. it seems a little easier.

Yeah, New Zealand is notoriously hard to get citizenship to. Basically you have to marry someone that does.

Yeah, my sister married a Kiwi and they live there. She has dual citizenship, but as has been related they are very, very strict and picky about who they let in.

I actually kind of like that.

I scored a temporary work visa there after college. They've got some deal where if you are a recent college grad, they'll give you a 6 month visa. Once there, it was pretty easy to extend it.
