This guy did it (weight loss + bodybuilding)

That somehow raises my motivation concerning weight-losing+body building:

Wow, that's very impressive progress. It shows if you stick to it, you'll definitely have good results. I sorta wish I thought of taking pictures of my progress, but I guess it's too late.

Plan9Senior 01-12-2004 09:41 AM

John Stone rocks. He is a member of bodybuilding.com :) Notice the dates on those before and after. He did that quicker then you would imagine possible.

Sparhawk 01-12-2004 10:25 AM

Wow, totally bookmarked.

BullHazzer 01-12-2004 12:31 PM

This is unbelievable!! If there were not the week-by-week pictures, I would argue forever that the first and last photo had to be some sort of photochoppin job. What an inspiration!

majik_6 01-12-2004 01:57 PM

That's absolutely amazing.

I think that's what I needed to inspire me to really get started on my fitness goals!

And his diet logs have tons of vegetarian stuff in them...I'm glad I read this thread!

Sparhawk 01-12-2004 05:32 PM

If I could rate this thread, I'd give it 5 stars. I'm still exploring his site. So effin cool.

Plan9Senior 01-12-2004 05:56 PM

I love his new home gym setup *drool*

Oh, take note on his cardio. HIIT, which is what I preach to you guys wanting to lose fat :). Told ya it works ;)

Great link! Thanks a lot for it.

His progress is amazing. It sure has motivated me!

sailor 01-13-2004 06:47 PM

Goodness, that is NUTS. That man has some serious willpower to be able to do that much in that short of a time period.

limey 01-14-2004 10:09 AM

It is incredible how this guy gave 100% on all aspects of this weight loss program - from the diat and exercise to the web site and even taking weekly pictures and putting together an animated gif. For all the weight loss programs and web sites out there, this one really hits home 'cause it's from an average guy who does things that anyone else can. Amazing work and WHAT a body!!

That is really cool. Gives me alot of motivation, almost want to record it the same way as he did. At some points you can see huge differences in just a few days.

saru 01-16-2004 11:38 AM

Very motivational site, even for those who have been working out on a regular basis for years. If you're like me and have hit a big plateau, his link to the MAX-OT method is worth checking out. I tried it on a whim ("what do i have to lose?" kind of whim) and its already given pretty good results.

fnaqzna 01-30-2004 11:39 AM

An amazing transformation...

35 years old... simply amazing work... and his record keeping is just incredible...

Yeah I've seen this around. Definately check out the animation (he took one picture of himself every day and put them together).

SiN 01-30-2004 11:55 AM

there's a thread about this already in fitness forum (which happens to be where such things belong anyways)

/merging..

more fire 01-30-2004 09:47 PM

Cuball 01-31-2004 04:35 AM

cliv 01-31-2004 09:45 AM

Everytime I need motivation to go to the gym, I visit his website.

alec 01-31-2004 11:33 AM

not to offend anyone, but these guys *other* changes remind me of a simpsons quote:

McBain: Ja, thank you, ja, that's nice. Let's say hello to my music
guy, Skoey. [Skoey bows] That is some outfit, Skoey. It
makes you look like a homosexual.
[Audience boos]
Maybe you all are homosexuals!

i don't think getting in shape should have anything to do with turning into a complete meterosexual, but kudos to him for turning his life around

he was already muscular before he lost the weight, just couldnt notice it, hes just really cut thats all

lots and lots of cardio, and tanning, and a little lifting

lots of protein

it can be done

strange 02-04-2004 03:42 AM

Wow! That's an eye opener. I wish I could do that.

Kaos 02-06-2004 08:49 PM

Great to see a well written out progress report. Very impressive and motivational.

But did anyone feel like the gif animation looked like you were watching a body decompose until the muscle gains started?

danburi 02-06-2004 09:27 PM

I'm impressed...and motivated. Kudos for good book keeping as well. I'm still checking out his site and I'm floored at how meticulous he is in every aspect of his routine.

Great job!

cait987 02-07-2004 03:18 PM

I was starting to lack motivation in weight loss + muscle building but ive gotten it all back after seeing that I just want to buy a stair stepper my bike is so old haha ;/

thed00t 02-08-2004 03:59 PM

What will motivate you more is seeing what you can accomplish yourself.

I used to have ~20% bf, 6'1 and 190ish. Needless to say I was skinny and fat at the same time.

Now I'm a healthy 9% bf, and float between 160 and 165 depending on how much I'm eating. Take pictures of yourself when you start. You don't notice gradual change on yourself sometimes. So those pictures of YOUR OWN PROGRESS will motivate you more than anything. You accomplished it.

No shit, I couldn't walk after my first session.

Parker 02-09-2004 01:14 PM

That is amazing. The dedication to keep on doing that is awesome. I have gone a month so far and I have not missed a day at the gym and lost 12 lbs., but what he went through is awesome.

mick 02-09-2004 06:00 PM

Just what I have been looking for. MOTIVATION. What a find!!!

thanks. Now all I have to do is stop eating.

Hell Yah. pass me another binger.
