HIIT not in the morning?
Well, I know you should do HIIT on a empty stomach however, most of the time the morning does not allow me to do it on a weekday so I have to put it off, and I dont like doing that. I was wondering, since I eat lunch between 10 - 12 and dont get home till 3, would I be able to do a HIIT then for the same general benefits since ide be on a pretty much empty stomach? I dont know everything about HIIT but ive had some great results using it the 8 or so times I have however, Ide like to do it 3-4 times a week instead of the 2 im doing now since I can really only do it on weekends right now.
So does anyone know if there is anything wrong with doing HIIT later in the day on a empty stomach? thanks |

When I do HIIT sessions I do it later in the day on an empty stomach. Since I do my workouts after work and thats always about 1 - 2 hours after I eat a snack. I have never had any problems with it, always felt good during & after a good session. Basically IMHO there never is a "bad" time to exercise. There are optimal times but never really a "bad" time. Just do whatever works best for you and whenever you have time for a workout take advantage of that time. Its better to do it at a non-optimal time than to not exercise at all. At least thats what I think

It isn't just an empty stomach.
Its the fact that your body has been starving itself of fuel and already depleted your glycemin stores. This is the best time to engage cardio excercise as you'll be twice as effecient in burning fat. You'll also burn more calories during the day, no matter what you do. On another plus side, it'll wake your ass up and you'll feel like a hero the rest of the day. Note: it is NOT a good time to lift weights. Proper hypertrophy comes from fuel. You need to eat before, (45+ minutes) and after lifting weights. |
