Fighting Smell

Check this out. My gf tells me i have a different and stronger type of BO when i come back from my kickboxing classes than any other sport. I also noticed this, but didnt think too much on it. Now that i wonder, i think it may be some primitive caveman scenario, where my body is releasing different pheremones due to the combative situation. Any thoughts???

Is your girlfriend turned on or anything, by it?

I thought pheromones were invisible chemical smells, in that you probably couldn't physically notice the smell? Moreso, just the effect they have... BO then, is just some toxins and other crap coming out or around your sweat glands, which is the smell

Covering our body are around 3 million sweat glands. Most body odour comes from the armpits and groins, where the sweat is produced by glands called apocrine glands.

The sweat produced in these hairy areas is milk-like and rich in protein. Believe it or not sweat is actually odourless, but bacteria feast on this milky, protein-rich liquid producing the foul-smelling chemical compounds that we all know as body odour. These glands respond to the hormone testosterone - which is why sweating and BO are more common after puberty.

More on Pheromones, interesting stuff, although most of it is still up in the air.

We do release pheromones but the part of our brains that register it are underdeveloped. Our pheromones come out of specific areas of our body such as back of neck, pulse points etc. Thats why when people where purfume they put it over these points. That way when they get turned on and start releasing pheromones the perfume adds a stronger scent which we can conciously pick up. If we like that scent then we are more likely to find that person attractive.

On the related point. Ive played nearly every sport under the sun and I can confidently say that each sport has a different smell when it comes to BO.
