Tonsil Stones (Tonsilloliths)
Recently i started getting tonsil stones. It was only after coughing them up about once per month i found out what they are from the web. Its supposed to be quite a common thing but hard to cure but i dont know anyone else who gets them. Does anyone else get them? Are there any tips for making them easier to deal with, or maybe even a cure?
For those who don't know, tonsil stones (tonsilloliths) are whitish build-ups of minerals, salts and bacteria which build up in the tonsil cavities. They can be big or small and you don't notice them until they fall out and you either swallow them or cough them out (sometimes after feeling like you're about to choke on them). They smell quite bad because they contain a lot of sulphur and even worse if they crumble. Fortunately they don't seem to be affecting my breath too much (although i may need a second opinion). As far as i can tell they don't lead to tonsilitis.
