Dry face

When I get out of the shower in the morning I always notice my nose is real dry and looks like some dead skin or something, kind of flaky. I can scrub, wash, and it still appears. What's a guy to do about this?

try something to moisterize. after shave works wonders if it isn't heavy on the alcohol.

i have dry skin at times and it can become very painful. scrubbing is a very temporary and ultimately painful exercise.

get some salve-like after shave. i use some Polo salve that works _good_ and you won't feel it much after a few minutes. (i loathe lotions' feel)

I would say that you should stop scrubbing it at all. If you feel it's necessary to do so (for acne treatment or something...) be sure and moisturize with a high quality moisturizer right when you dry your face.

After shaving if my face is dry, I use kiehl's ultimate after shave. It's not the cheapest stuff out there but it works wonders. Combine it with the shaving cream that goes with it. Only places I've found it are at Neiman Marcus and http://www.kiehls.com . You can always get free samples of their stuff, check it out.

Only one solution to this, MOISTURIZE after you have had a shower. Soap will dry ur face out and so will some shaving creams. I use Noxzema right after I've stepped out of the shower and shaved. I know some guys think it's girly to use moisturizer but we have to have good looking skin also. Plus our face takes more beating than girls because we shave and those razors can leave some nasty burns. So my suggestion is to go to your local Wally World and pick up some Noxzema, you'll notice a world of difference.

Alot of people have naturally dry skin. I suffer from this, and have tried a lot to keep my skin continuously moist.
Generally, soap is an abrasive. It dries out your skin.
I suggest you use moisturized soap, such as Dove.
If the problem is localized on your nose, and the rest of your skin is well, then the problem could be different:

Sun damage. Sun burns often leave skin flaky and dry. If it doesnt repair within a month, then the problem could be different:

Fungal infection: Its not as bas as it sounds. Give your doctor a visit, and he/she will tell you what to do. Clotrimazole creams (canesten is available over-the-counter) can help with this.
