Tilted Fairytales

Make up your own short fairytale and post it. Simple as that!

There once was an enchanted hollow that had a tree that housed a fey. The fey was unseelie and hunted people in the night. It grew powerful from all the souls it had collected over the centuries. Soon its influence spread and it lived in all the minds that had heard its tale. It now hunts them down one by one in the middle of the night.

It enjoys going after young families the most because it finds the souls of children especially sweet. After it eats a child it takes his form and terrorizes the parents to sweeten the taste of their souls. It slowly devours the parents from the inside out.

The End.

WOW!! That sounds just like my mother-in-law. Speaking of which (or in this case a Witch)

There was a witch named Mattie, Like all other witches, she was ugly with green skin, straggly hair, a hooked nose. Even a large wart on tip of her chin. But Mattie was in fact a very sweet lady. Using her potions to help the sick, casting spells to help people find their way in life. But it made little difference. Most people hated her. They could only see the witch of the outside. Not the friend that dwelled within.

One day. A woman of great influence felt that Mattie had cast a love spell on her husband on the behalf of another woman. And the result is that he left her and ran away with his new love (In truth, Mattie had nothing to do with it, the two fell in love without any help from her)

OOHH! The wronged lady raised a huge commotion. And rallied other people to her cause. Which was to make Mattie pay for the pain she was going through? At first. Not too many people listened. So she used scare tactics, saying "she could bewitch your loved one next" or "She could take your child and turn them into her slave or worse...her dinner" (even though Mattie was a vegetarian)

Soon, she had the backing she needed and lead a crowed to seize Mattie. Now Mattie though she had nothing to fear, for she had done nothing wrong. And believed the law of the land would protect her. For surely all the good she had done would prove that she was harmless. The mob didn't care about the past; they only cared the fear that was driven into them.

In a short time, the crowd had taken Mattie. And tied to a stake. And burned her. While her flesh was cooking and her hair ablaze. She looked to the leader of the crowd, the lady who refuse to listen to reason, just the pain she felt. And pleaded with her, say she was innocent. The lady just laughed and Mattie burned alive.

But the lady's pain did not go away with Mattie's death; instead it grew, so went out and hunted down another witch, then another, then another. Not caring who she hurt in the process, she just wanted to hunt and kill witches. Until she became far more deadly then those she hunted. On the outside, she was a great success. After all, who would want a witch living near their village? She spear headed laws to keep witches in place. To track them no matter where they went. Oh! What a great success she was...on the outside. But on the inside. her pain grew deeper and deeper. Until she went mad. and was accused by the new laws of being a witch. and was burned just as Mattie was. But who was the greater evil. The witch who wasn't a witch...or the one who wasn't a witch...But really was.
