"Sweden's Hottest Volvo"

this custom 1967 Volvo Amazon was voted as the hottest volvo to represent sweden at SEMA. it puts out 600hp and was built by Mattias Vocks... unfortunately that's all i know about it... the interior is a little utilitarian for my tastes, but that plexiglass (i assume) transmission cover is AWESOME

just for reference (i had never seen one before) here's an original 67 amazon...

Is it wrong that I'd take the original? But I still like the modified one.

That interior doesn't do the car any justice. Maybe it's just me, but I feel that classic cars like this one should have classy, elegant interiors. It doesn't have to be the same as the original (because then it'd be a restore more than a mod) but a roll-cage and see through gearbox cover is a bit over the top.

Man, I love that. My daughter has an old Volvo DL wagon like that, I'm gonna show her this and see if she's interested in a little upgrade

I LOVE IT!!! As for the interior... it has just enough to get the job done of covering most of the metal... as a performance oriented guy, I'm thrilled that its not weighed down with sound deadening mats, and filled with huge speaker boxes. Also the clear transmission cover is freakin sweet.

The interior is not to my taste either, but wow, he did a really elegant job on the outside. I love seeing unique customs from manufacturers other than Ford and Chevy. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome ride, is all there is to say there. But, and I may be missing something, but I don't think there's any glass/plexi - just a tubular frame around the transmission. Look like the tranny's nekkid to me...

That looks terrific. I like the interior. It looks like a P1800 dash, the stock one is nothing like that. The see-thru tunnel is a bit odd but at least there's something nice looking underneath. I love the way they've kept it all Volvo.
I'd want to drive that!
