Selling a car - Title question
 

I'm selling a car to someone, and they asked me if I would have a problem leaving the date off the title when we filled it out. Aside from the legalities, how would doing this affect me?

They say that the car will be parked until October when their daughter turns 16 and they don't want to pay for tags on it while it is parked. I'm guessing if I let them post-date the title I would be responsible for payment of the 4 months of registration until her birthday. It's cheap so that doesn't bother me, but my real concern is if they put a tag on it from another car and drive it around. If they wreck it would it come back to me somehow?

If its such little money why don't they do it? Sounds fishy to me. If anything consult a lawyer or someone with experience before you do anything.

NO WAY.....DATE it and make sure they sign and date a release of Liability form. Shit dude they can go rob a bank hit and run someone and if you don't have the proof YOU'RE FUCKED!!

After they sign the papers take them to the DMV ASAP!!
