The Covini looks stupid to me. But when I saw the Tyrell P34 racing at Watkins Glen in 1976 and it finished 2nd, I thought it was pretty damn cool.

I saw them race the next year at Long Beach. I agree, damned cool at the time.

On the Covini I would say it adds nothing other than useless complexity and cost...and looks stupid imo.

On the Tyrell P34, I believe one of the primary goals was to reduce frontal area by using smaller front tires, but then they wanted/needed more rubber contact area so they doubled up.
