My new baby

Well, I finally caved in and went and got one...

I'm so happy with it.... It's only the base model, but hey, it's good enough for me...

I can't wait to take a long trip somewhere... Just to drive it for quite sometime on the highways of Washington State or Canada....

exizldelfuego 08-08-2004 01:17 AM

Yeah, I hear ya! I got my new Volvo S60 last October, and shortly thereafter I was hit with a big disadvantage to living in a city which I had never before thought about. It's hard to come up with excuses to leave the city!

I grew up in New Mexico, where a few times a month you're driving three hours down the road to get to somewhere worthwhile (mainly Albuquerque and Santa Fe). Plus, those cities housed all NM Volvo dealers. So when you get a new car, you were guaranteed your 3-hour inaugural tour. I never realized how important that was...

Well, so far, I've only made it down to Olympia once and up to Bellingham once. Such trips are simply insufficient... city driving sucks!

BTW, congrats on the car! Looks like fun. Here's hoping you can find better excuses than I can to get out and drive.

BooRadley 08-08-2004 09:20 PM

Beautiful car. I have no doubts you will enjoy it.

ASNstunta 08-08-2004 10:33 PM

Congrats on buying a beautiful car!!

KirStang 08-08-2004 11:02 PM

ouhh, nice car. Do you have specs? :)

acpower 08-09-2004 02:31 AM

SAweet ride!

Vaultboy 08-09-2004 04:05 AM

*drools*

bullmoose 08-09-2004 07:04 AM

That would be my color choice too. Did you get a stick shift?

Nissan builds cars that are fun to drive. I have had a 240-Z, two Maximas, and a 200sx. All were great cars.

08-09-2004 07:42 AM

very cool but looking at that front, you need some 3M rockchip protector.

RaDiAn 08-09-2004 08:07 AM

Very Nice !! love the color!!

merkerguitars 08-09-2004 08:43 AM

Very awesome indeed. I love that blue..i'm sure those pics don't do it justice, and plus it having that beautiful body style it definately will be an eye catcher.

matteo101 08-09-2004 10:06 AM

Mmm, I love that car. ALOT. Excellent choice. You will find it harder and harder to drive the speed limit. Have fun!

Cynthetiq 08-09-2004 10:12 AM

nice.. base is better than none.... :) enjoy and motor safe

SpikeQX99 08-09-2004 11:02 AM

Specs...

287 HP, 277ft/lb. torque, that's about all I got specs wise. but that's all i need.

Yeah, definately got the 6 speed manual transmission, no automatics here.

I have to drive pretty tame here for another 600 miles or so. They recommend that you not rev it above 4000 for the first thousand miles for proper break in on the engine...

I'm just trying to find any reason to go 600 miles to really open it up.

good idea about the rockchip protector. Didn't even cross my mind, but thinking about it now would certainly prevent head/heart aches down the road!!

Thanks!

wrongfullyaccuzd 08-09-2004 11:26 AM

You definitely got the best color, nice ride.

compression 08-10-2004 12:32 PM

I dont know man, you should have opted for an upgraded model, you get HID headlights, a limited slip diff, and some other cool stuff, like DVD based navigation.
But it is the same engine/drivetrain in all of them, and thats what really counts. VQ35DE, so whats the first mod going to be? You cant just leave it stock!

SpikeQX99 08-10-2004 01:20 PM

I was thinking about the nismo exhaust with the nismo headers, followed by a veilside wing on the back,

oh and somewhere in between there, i'd like to win the lottery too!

I don't drive agressive enough for a LSD, and if I can't find what I'm looking for without a map, maybe I don't need to be going there.

But then, this is gonna be a daily driver sometimes too, so putting all the fancy stuff just asks to get stolen too.

I'm so torn!
Any suggestions???

castex 08-10-2004 03:51 PM

I suggest you leave that lovely motor exactly as it is!

yakimushi 08-10-2004 06:02 PM

Mega-sweet dude. Congrats!

JStrider 08-10-2004 09:09 PM

very cool... i wanna take a turn driving it!

Esoteric 08-10-2004 09:29 PM

Congrats on buying that dope ass car. The blue looks good.

sky_driver 08-11-2004 10:12 AM

Congratulations. Enjoy your new car.

matteo101 08-11-2004 12:27 PM

Please for the love of god, please dont put a wing on that thing.

Jackebear 08-12-2004 01:16 AM

Very nice...I am jealous. Have fun.

BigTruck1956 08-12-2004 02:26 AM

sweet, man. enjoy!!

SpikeQX99 08-12-2004 11:54 AM

So I saw that someone said no to a wing on the car.

Now I'm not thinking about a shopping cart handle type wing, I was more looking for one like this....

http://store1.yimg.com/I/ntnsracing_1805_84530348

any opinions on this wing style???

Of the 3 veilside kits out there, this one is probably my favorite.

Scorps 08-12-2004 04:01 PM

I want one of those in black, I would put some nice 18 inchers on it 4 inch exahust tips and dark window tint so no one can see in. Oh and can't forget the boom boom system!

Yep, it looks atrocious.

It's too nice of a car to make it look like a $2000 Civic owned by a 16 year old, and that's all that you'd accomplish with that uglyass wing.

A 350 Z is far from looking lie Civic....Go with a wing/spoiler just need to get the right one!

Me, first would be Rims(BIG ONES!)

Kurant 08-12-2004 05:59 PM

Get a lower profile wing, that's ridiculious looking. There is a supercharged Z up here, and it was a very low profile, simple wing and it's oneo f the sickest cars. I love it.

SpikeQX99 08-12-2004 09:01 PM

Alrighty! I'm just putting out feelers here, so the opinions are well recieved!

The rims and tires are gonna be the first things though.

Keep the ideas flowing. What sort of rims??? got pics of em? Put em here.

exizldelfuego 08-12-2004 10:04 PM

Yah, Idunno. I've seen a few around Seattle now. And I think one of the things I really like about it's styling is the really smooth lines it has. It FLOWS really well. Be weary of spoilers which might interrupt such a thing.

gotta love the super and turbochargers.

Nissan has the Nismo version coming out next year and a year after the turbo version.

I knew someone that had a car like that(first year model) had the engine fully rebuilt to with stand a twin turbo set up. After that thing was rebuilt and running it was putting out numbers that almost matched the Skyline and the where killing the 300ZX. What I would pay for a Twin Turbo 350Z:eek:

castex 08-14-2004 02:30 AM

Seriously, if you must change it then do try and keep things pukka - go to NISMO like the man Train says and see what the people who made it think about making it faster/racier-looking.
As I mentioned, however, your new car is a distinctive beauty. If you leave it alone it'll still stop late night revellers, dog walkers, text-crazed amblers in their tracks.

Delvid 08-20-2004 12:11 PM

Nice car. Saw a new Elise in that color and it was beautiful.

Rdr4evr 08-20-2004 06:37 PM

OH man, Im so jealous. I've had my eye on that beauty since day one, but as a college student I unfortunately cant purchase one :(. Congradulations though man, its a killer ride. My dad bought a black convertible one couple months back and put on some rims, tints and an exhaust. He let me drive it once and I've been in love ever since. Have fun with it.

SpikeQX99 08-21-2004 01:33 AM

I wouldn't mind having an Elise either!! That's a pretty sweet ride too!

Unfortunately, i've been working some messed up hours at work, and don't get much time to really drive it at all. But it looks like I get the weekend off, so maybe I'll wash it and go for a good long road trip or something??

Gabbyness 08-21-2004 06:28 AM

Congrats, that's awesome!

Scorps 08-21-2004 02:42 PM
