I would too, as I realized all that tax money that went to waste.

It was a donation to the Italian police by Lamborghini.
However, one benefit is that if you made it crash, you'd be fairly certain the poor bastards in the thing would be banned from driving cop cars forever.

saw it before, and yes it was donated by lamborghini... it will mostly be used for emergency heart transplants and such, things that need to travel fast.

Does this remind anyone of that BMW movie back in like, 2002-03?

Confiscating rides from drug dealers wouldn't land one of those, but I'd think they could get a Mustang or Camaro or two out of it.

Almost makes me want to be an Italian police officer. I wonder how they decide who gets to drive it?

Saw it in Rome in spring shortly after it was donated. The officer showing it off was pretty damned proud to be the one on engine revving duty.

yeah the Lamborghini was a donation, a marketing coup for them too so we can expect to see more of this. It does kind of sicken me to see cops driving much better cars--SUVs, corvettes, mustangs, camaros, etc.--than the average person drives. When you think about how much of local PD revenue comes from fining local citizens for arcane traffic violations, it essentially amounts to a predatory taxation of the streets.

The cops around here use a Civic Si to blend in with the street racer crowd. It was kind of funny the first time I saw one with a county license plate and a cop behind the wheel.

I think that's fairly cool of Lamborghini to donate the car to the Police, being that in all the years the company has been around, they've produced less than 10,000 cars (alot less, I believe.)

So how do I get this job? Imagine that, you get to drive a 12-cylinder supercar like a bat out of hell and save someone's life at the same time. Talk about job satisfaction.
