How should I clean the plastic sheild that protects the speedometer, gauges.

What should i clean the plastic sheild that protects the speedometer, gauges.I was looking at it and it was dusting ,so I wipe it off with a dry rag and i see on these spots on it now.So i was thinking ,What would clean it good without messing it up ? I don't want to try windex it might mess up the plastic sheild.I was thinking about soap and water, but Idon't know, maybe someone has a better idea.

When I say dry spots,it's like something wet got on it and dried up.

I've used Windex on plastic before, and it's worked well for me.

Use Windex but spray it on the cloth instead of the plastic.

It's the rag you use to clean it with that will screw up the plastic. Use something soft like a terry cloth rag or an old teeshirt.

Windex or other window cleaner works fine, if it gets really dirty and scratched I usually take the dash cluster out and use a good quality plastic polish on it and bam it's like new.

Whatever you do, don't use alcohol or other solvents. They will cloud the surface and you will be super pissed.
