Who is that?
The wife found two cds in a parking lot last night. One is a recordable cd which contains Tool's Lateralus.
The other one is a manufactured cd and I don't know who it is. It doesn't say on the disc label. There are 17 songs on it, on the disc it says copyright 1998 Gasoline Alley J.V. GASD 11413. On the disc there's a cartoonish picture of a guy holding a bottle and a poster that says DETOX, Shattered Faith, Falling Idols, Phantom Opera, Dissension, First Offense. All the songs sound like the same band (and they all kinda sound the same). I "googled" Gasoline Alley Records and came up empty. If anyone knows who this is, I'd appreciate your satisfying my curiosity. Thanx. If you'd like this disc, you can have it. I think it blows. |
Detox, Shattered Faith, Falling Idols, Phantom Opera, First offense... I think those might actually be the names of different bands. Maybe like a compilation cd of some kind. Sorry I couldn't help more. :(

Cant you put it in your comp and open Windows Media Player and tell it to find the cd's information?
But i just checked my cds and it is Sublime. It is definitely Sublime. Their self Titled cd. And it is a great cd. |
Yep... that's exactly what the Sublime CD looks like...
Great CD indeed... |
Never met anyone who didn't know who sublime was... I'm not liking this...

Meh. |
Thanks, all.
I have a cousin who likes Sublime, I'll give it to him. If you look at the hated music thread, most of my favorites are listed in the first 10-15 posts. I guess I like hated music :). Different people, different tastes... |
Ya a lot of my favorites are too(Nirvana, TOOL, lostprophets, linkin park, the white stripes, smashing pumpkins, rancid, system of a down, and weezer). Bah, like you said, different people, different tastes.

Wondering why you felt the need to resurrect a five year old thread aside, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding your meaning. Are you disagreeing with the conclusion that the found CD was Sublime's self-titled? Because if so (and I really can't think of a nice way to say this), you're wrong. The biggest tip-off is Gasoline Alley, which was a Universal imprint that I don't think anyone other than Sublime used. As well, the described artwork matches the Sublime self-titled cd exactly; the list of band names on the poster are punk bands, which was a nod by Sublime to other artists, while the bottle was a reference to 40 Oz to Freedom, which was Sublime's first album. Interestingly, the 1998 copyright tells us that this wasn't one of the CDs from the first pressing, which would've been 1994; it was probably second or third. This is not an opinion, it's a certainty. The release number (GASD 11413) clinches it. EDIT - It seems I can't like the image directly. It can be viewed here, however. |
